4 Failed IVF....Bad embryos ..All arrest on day 3

HI All

I am really devastated with the outcome of my IVF. I have done 4 failed IVF cycles in RSC Boston and all the 4 times all of my embryos never made it to day 3. On day 2 some are 4 cell, some are 2/3 cell with more than 40% fragmentation but they arrest on day 3. So I have never had a day 3 transfer. Based on my first cycle, my RE recommended day 2 transfer saying that they have better chance of growing inside me. My RE is saying its likely an egg issue. I get good number of eggs like average 13 with Gonal-F and the fertilization is also good almost 80% of eggs fertilize but on day 2 most my embryos are 1 or 2 cell with lot of fragmentation. Very few are 3 or 4 cell but that too with lot of fragmentation. And between day 2 and day 3 they stop growing. I am 33 so I am not that old. I have done all karyotype testing, micro-chip DNA. My DH has very small varicocele but his SA is beautiful and RE says its not a sperm issue but more likely egg issue.

Now I had an ectopic pregnancy 3 years ago with my DH sperm. So I cannot understand that how come in 3 years my egg quality went so bad that all my embryos are crappy. I was diagnosed with moderate hydrosalphix on leftside but the tube is still open since I had a delayed spill from it during lap/HSG.

Could it be a lab issue that my embryos do not grow in that lab. RSC Boston is supposed to have a good lab.

even though you are not a poor responder you might want to check out the High FSH forum - there are a few posts about embryo quality. A lot of women have had success going to the top clinics CCRM and Cornell...
