Exclamation Help ! Mismanaged IVF cycles?

I have just failed 2 cycles. I'm upset as only those here who have had that heartache can know.

Deciding to educate myself a bit on how this works to be a better candidate, I have seen some very upsetting differences in care almost all stories go as far as treatments/monitoring have gone and mine.

I had one baseline scan to check for cysts, polyps, etc. I had one baseline set of bloodtests.

Each cycle was Synarel then Gondotropin then one follicle count scan then OPU then transfer. After transfer Crinine 8%.

There were absolutely no blood tests for anything during either.
I was upset that I was asking why they were doing the trx on day 18 of my cycle....AF showed up right on time both times.I never made it more than 8 -9 days with my embryos. The second cycle began and they called 3 days into it (after I was taking stim shots) to see if I had gone in for my beta from the last one!
I could have had an ectopic or been PG and not known as I have no successful pregnancies to compare with. Am I being a big baby or does this sound like lax care?
Before cycle 2 I was trying to ask about a change in protocol. My doctor grudgingly increased the Gonal dosage but nothing more. She kept teling me how old I was and that I shouldn'rt expect miracles.

I don't want a miracle, just to know that if this has any possibility of working, I'd like to know I'm being given the best shot possible.
So...what I'm interested in hearing is ....do any of you get hormonal support after transfer more than 8% crinone or does your doctor check to see what you need and give you that?

I have never been checked for uterine thickness measurements.(I have my charts here and no notes) Is this unusual?

How many have done repeated cycles with no change in protocol?
What day do you normally do your transfer? ANyone do day 18 transfer ,was it successful?

Thanks for sharing if you can.

I know it's frustrating. I am sorry. I can't totally relate, but I do understand on some level.
I did change REs after failed cycles just because I liked our current REs communication style better, but have never felt it was lax monitoring. I'd be livid. Our current RE actually kept me on very close to same protocol but tweaked it a bit.
I think it's pretty standard to do bloodwork and for the nurses to be there to educate.
Have you spoken to your RE about this to find out why none of these things were done?
HUGS.

Gave EVERYTHING a rest for a while. Decided we were good as is for a year. Got accepted into IVF clinical study at RE and couldn't resist one more go of it.

PS? 18 Day transfer??? I think mine was 3 day. I'll have to reread in case i misread yours. I'll also read your other posts to catch up-- so far what I've read of yours sounds a little lax on part of dr office- Frustrating to say the least.
Did you have a nurse educate you on your cycle? Usually they seem to be really helpful.
I am sorry to hear your having to deal with it....

Hi Mrs Fed,

Thanks for the response. The transfer was a 2 day done on the 18 th day of my cycle. It just doesn't seem like enough time to implant- my doctor said it didn't matter. I don't agree and if there is a reason for it she was badat explaining it to me so I'd be more at ease. She is one of those patrinizing tps"let me be the doctor ...o.k.?"
I have a 26 day cycle.
The nurses there are only to assist with protocol administration-how to giv shots, call for trigger times etc.

I did switch doctors finally.I have an appointmet with her tomorrow. I have just been feeling like crap for doing 2 cycles with her and wasting all of that time and $$.
I was feeling stupid after the first one when no one even had the decency to call me with the negative results.I called and left messages and no one bothered to say if it was a chemical ,ectopic, nothing.

Glad to be out of there. Maybe she flunked out of veterinary school?
