Protocol Question
Hi everyone-
I am new to FT and am hoping someone can help me with a question I have. I recently had a failed IVF cycle but it was part of a clinical trial and everyone was given the same protocol. Moving on to my own RE regarding a new IVF attempt how do you ladies who have been through it decide on a protocol? Is it solely up to the RE or do you make the decision together? Is it more based on what that RE is comfortable doing or how s/he thinks your body is going to respond. BTW-I am 38, my FSH has never been over 10, the highest it has gone on 3 day b/w has been 8, I have mild endo, dh is fine. I was just on a Microdose Lupron "flare" protocol which i thought was usually given to poor responders. Before this IVF, I didn't know if I was a poor responder or not, but they did manage to get 13 eggs. I don't know why it failed...maybe my age? Any advice/guidance greatly appreciated..thanks in advance!!

Sorry to hear about your failed cycle. Generally my doctor has been the one to decide on the protocol, based on my particular case. However, we've always had open discussions about doses etc. and he has always been open to discussing why he has chosen a particular protocol.
