Hi All,
I'm very new to this (as in just signed up today) and noticed some things. I just had my first IUI on Saturday and then again on Sunday. I've been using Clomid for 3 cycles, this past cycle I finally got a +OPK. I was very excited, but I've been reading a lot of these boards and seem to notice that the first IUI doesn't appear to have any success. Are there any helpful hints for those of you that have had successful IUI's?

Riaz, My Dh and I had our first IUI last september and ended up with a BFP with twins after almost 8 years of trying with no sucess!! Sadly we lost those babies, one at 4 weeks and one at 5 weeks. Don't give up, there is no reason that it shouldn't work for you!! I was told that since we have been trying for so long that we would only have a 20% chance of it working and we see it as a step for us! As hard as it sounds try and go about your normal daily routine(within reason) and take alot of time to relax, keep your feet up and catch up with a good book. I know easier said than done!! We will be doing an IVF treatment this summer and hopefully never have to do this type of stuff again!! Keep us updated!! Good luck and i'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers!!

Riaz- welcome! DH and I were succesful on our first IUI last year and now have almost 5 month old twin boys
. DD was a clomid baby. My PCOS became so bad in between her and last year that clomid had no chance on its own...we did a combo of clomid/ follistim and IUI and TADA! Good luck! It is possible!

Hi NorthernGirl, thank you for your kind words and advice. This can be such an emotional roller coaster. I'm sorry for your loss and am encouraged by yours and your DH's commitment. I will keep you guys updated. The summer is coming around quickly! Good luck on your IVF and let me know how it works out
![]() About2bmom: Congradulations! Thank you soo much for that! I've been reading all these boards, as I mentioned before, and seen so many people on their 3rd and 4th IUI without success. |

I was successful on my first IUI. Even though my follies and e2 weren't ideal, I conceived b/g twins, who will be 7 in August.

I know someone who was successful with her first IUI! (After 4 years of trying on their own). She has a beautiful DD and then got pg naturally with DD#2!
I was successful with my first IUI with injectables- Clomid didn't work for me. Unfortunately I had a miscarriage at 6.5 weeks. We had really low chances of IUI success b/c of severe male factor, so everyone was surprised the IUI worked. I just did my 1st IVF after 6 IUIs. Good luck! It can work! |

Good luck, b'lorebaby!
My 2ww is almost over. I should technically test on Sunday, but I'm going to hold out until Monday to be absolutely sure. I've been feeling nauseous lately, but I think it's just me psyching myself out....we'll see, though. Hopefully, we'll all get BFPs this month

Hi Riaz
I'm from Ft Lauderdale too... been going to IVF Florida in Margate. Have had 2 IUI's so far... Using Clomid & Follistim. Last IUI's were 5/9 & 5/10. They told me to wait a full 16 days after my trigger shot and if AF had'nt come to come in for Blood Preg test. Unfortunately started spotting 2 days ago, so did HPT and it was neg. I should have waited til Sunday also... but my will power got the best of me. We'll be doing 1 more round of IUI before we go to IVF... Hopefully the 3rd times a charm for us Hopefully this will be your month!! Fingers crossed

BBFL,
I had my first IUIs on 5/9 and 5/10 too! I'm in Coral Springs and had mine done by my GYN at the Women's Health Center off Hillsboro. I've been on 50mg Clomid for the past 3 cycles. If the last 2 cycles mean anything, then today should be my cd1. AF hasn't shown up yet and I'm trying my hardest not to test until tomorrow so I don't have to worry about false negs and whatnot. Hopefully, the 3rd time is a charm for you and your DH. Warm wishes to you both and fingers crossed
