I am a new member. I am 37 and my DH is 45. Our cause is male factor and we have just completed our first IVF cycle w/ICSI, which resulted in a BFN. I had a good response to meds (30 retrieved, 24 mature, and 16 fertilized) but the egg quality was only said to be "fair." I have a decent FSH of 5 and a good ovarian reserve so I expected better quality but I'm not sure if I'm correct in this thinking.
We are meeting with our RE this week to go over the cycle and make a plan for the next cycle. I'm wondering what questions to ask about this past cycle? My main confusion and concern is over the egg quality. Does FSH equate to quality? Could it be that the medication protocol was too aggressive and I didn't produce enough quality eggs? I was on Gonal-f and Menopur. I'm open to any suggestions/questions you can offer. Thank you.
