Cancelled IUI because of Clomid
My 2nd u/s today was disappointing and my IUI for tomorrow was cancelled. Clomid has completely thinned out my lining and I'm not responding anymore to it. I only responded to it for one month as it is. Anyone else have this happen? My husband went with me so it was easier to deal with. The one follicle I have refuses to grow above 12 mm, so there must be something wrong with it. The other 10 mm follicle from Monday was nowhere to be found. The RE thought I may have ovulated early as a possible explanation. My lining did make it to 6.3 mm from just 3 mm so that was an improvement. In some ways it's harder to know what is or isn't going on in my body. I'm trying to look forward to next cycle and injections. I wish I had a chance this month but it's not meant to be.

I am in the same situation. I ovulated on Clomid last month on 50 mg and this month was bumped up to 100 mg but nothing. I had 4 ultrasounds with multiple follies but none were big enough. Now my doctor is referring me to an RE and I'm hoping that they will start putting me on injections. My doctors have never looked at my lining though, is that something they do in an ultrasound?

Hey N -
Sorry about this failed cycle - we all know how frustrating and disappointing it can be. <<HUGS>> It is widely known that Clomid can thin the lining too much, and there IS an alternative called Femara (Letrazole). It works similiarly to Clomid, but has WAY fewer side effects (I experienced none) and does not thin the lining. Just thought I'd put that out there for ya in case you weren't quite ready for injectables (which aren't terrible, either!) Again, HUGS for the failed cycle - I commiserate with ya. |
