failed IUI cycle

I was supposed to start my first IUI this cycle and they said that they could not detect whether or not I had ovulated, even though I had bloodwork, and ultrasounds, my bloodwork was unpredictable and the ultrasound showed no mature follicles... I thought this was going to be so much easier! It seems like no one has any real answers either... When i ask if this is normal... no one has definitive answers... so frustrating. They have recommended that I begin injectables next cycle.. even more uncertainty.

Oh honey, yes, this is such a hard unpredictable time. Have you been doing clomid? I know you said, next cycle you will be doing injects so i am just assuming you must already be on clomid. What is and is not normal varies from women to women and I wish I had the answers you need.

Hi Prinny,
I know, it's so frustrating not having an answer. My RE couldn't tell me why Clomid ruined my lining nor why my 2 follicles wouldn't grow this cycle. The RE's answer was that he just didn't know why. It seems like so much is not understood about the female body. When we go to the doctor we expect answers and I'm just beginning to realize that RE's don't know everything. I wish you luck in the future.

Hi, I did two cycles on Clomid and it was not good for me- my lining was always too thin. I did MUCH better on injectables- always had a good lining and always had at least one egg.
I feel like RE is a young field...there is a lot they do know, but really a lot they don't know either. You can only do your best, and trust that they are doing the same. Good luck.

never mind, I looked up what ovarian drilling is. What a term! Sounds like it can be very successful, though...
