Low donor sperm count
I just had another failed IUI attempt. I was upset because after my RE thawed and washed the sperm the counts were only 9mil and then 4 mil. This seems way too low since CA Cryo guarantees 15 mil for ICI Prem sperm. Anyone else have a similar situation? What did you do? Is it RE's or Bank's fault, should I be credited?

Hi there! Today I am 14d piui and got 2 BFN. My last insemination was done with donor sperm. I had 8 mill post wash. I know how you feel. My RE told me, though, that they would prefer to have 10 mill post wash, but that they would go ahead with the IUI if they have at least 2 mill. I send you a lot of baby dust for next cycle.

I have a friend who has been using donor sperm and she has experienced the same problem. The sperm counts are always so low that ICSI is required. She has heard that this is quite common because sperm banks often try to split up each donation into numerous (up to 8?) vials, leaving the count per vial quite low. She was successful, though (not with IUI, but IVF/ICSI). Best of luck to you.
