Experience with Chemical Pregnancies?
I just learned that my 2nd IVF cycle is apparently a chemical pregnancy...my second beta only increased 10%. I am so disappointed, as my first beta was a good number (170). Has anyone had chemical pregnancies and gone on to have success? Does this make future success any more or less likely? I have a slightly t-shaped uterus (though I am not DES exposed) so am worried that implantation is our problem. Any insight? Thanks!!

In your case, I think you could still have success and let me tell you why. You see, since you did IVF, you have a higher chance of multiples. Years ago, more than 13 yrs ago (my daughter is 12 yrs old now) my first HCG was fine. I had some spotting and went in and my HCG had dropped, not just increased by a little. They offered me a D&C. Thank goodness I did not do it!!! Since later, my pregnancy went on and it was obvious it was the same pregnancy, it was concluded that I likely had twins and lost one. In your case, 170 at 12 days post retrieval is quite high. It is very very high. I would say multiple embryos implanted. The fact that it went up by only 10% can mean just that not all embryos grew.
