    Hi Purple207!
I too live in Switzerland and was wondering how your IVF went. I have had a bad experience in a clinic in Budapest and am considering saying in country for my next IVF. Have you any recommendations?
    Greetings!

    Hi,
I have not been able to do an IVF cycle. Its been tough. I met my new fertility specialist here is Switzerland, he decided to double check my tubes again because this was the issue. After a saline infusion check he realised that one of them was open. He suggested we go fr IUI first using the one opened tube. Here in switzerland insurances pays for 3 IUI cycles, but not IVF. To cut a long story short, for the past 1 year, we have not gotten pregnant. I have been thru 6 stimmulated cycles and only one time we have had a follicle on the right side with open tube which did not result to a pregnancy.
If you have a job its easier to have treatment here. Infertility is stressful enough as it is.
We have decided not to pursue IVF here in switzerland because its very expensive. The best treatment you can only get at a private clinic and cost starts from 9k per cycle. If we have to go through 3-4 cycles, we think we will go bankrupt. We are looking at going abroad, Türkey, Chech Rep or Greece.

    Hi!
I'm sorry to hear that you are having such a hard time. I know how hard cycles can be. I did know about the insurance paying up to 12 stimulated cycles and 3 IUI- been there done that. I know that IVF in Switzerland is outrageously expensive. There is a clinic in Luzern that might be a little less expensive but I haven't been there for a personal appointment so I'm not completely sure about that. There is also clinics in Germany as well. We did a cycle in Budapest and with the costs of everything else (a little over 6000sfr not including food & entertainment costs) we ended up with a cycle that was cancelled after egg retrieval.
You mentioned that if you have a job it's easier to have treatment. What did you mean by that? I thought insurance and medical coverage was independent of your employer.

I meant that its better to do a cycle where you work because then you will not have to take long leave days, just the short appointments of ultra sounds and blood works. I live in Zürich and my fertility specialist is Dr. Single in Küsnacht. I find them very professional, all my appointments with them have always last less than an hour. If you have a job, you can manage your treatment cycle very well without taking any day off for an appointment.
I am so sorry to hear about your canceled cycle. Its so painful after all we are going through to have a cycle canceled and then we have to go through all this again. I have done alot of research about clinics in eastern europe and noticed that they all have different prices for the same services. Its difficult to decide for one. I found a very reputable clinic in Türkey that is asking for 2700euro for a cycle all inclusive or 3700euro for a cycle including 20nights accommodation in a 4* hotel for the couple during the treatment. If i compare this with Swiss prices i will be able to do two cycles for the cost of 1 in Switzerland.
Where are you planning to go for your next cycle?
