Hi everyone,
Please help me....Here is my story... Painful periods my whole life, finally diagnosed with endo and had laparascopy last March. Dh and I began trying in May (we were told to wait a month). Tried on our own May, June and July all bfn. Started with a re in August and got pregnant with my first iui which resulted in a miscarriage. Then was pregnant two months after my miscarriage with iui, unfortunately miscarried again....
It has been 8 months since my miscarriage, I have done iui's and ivf's all resulting in a bfn. My period pain isn't as bad as it was prior to surgery, but i am definitely have cramps (not debilatating).
My question- how soon can endo come back? I'm scared it may be back and that is why I cannot get pregnant (whereas i was getting pregnant so easily 8 months ago). My re says endo doesn't come back so quickly and not to worry. I am tthinking of going for exploratory lap to rule out any endo. I just want a baby so badly and don't know what to do anymore. Please help!!!! Thanks so much, I hope everyone is doing well
JW

I would do a lap...endo can start growing back within 6 months. My laps were usually 12 to 18 months apart. You may also want to consider treatment with Lupron (or similar GnRH agonist) Welcome to Endofacts.com to further supress any mirco endo that surgery can't reach.
Good luck to you...Shelli~ TTC #2 for 10 years until my body gave out...

Thank you BC-Shelli! I had a d and c in September and January, would that've helped the situation with the endo (if it came back). My re keeps saying its too soon and hasn't mentioned surgery. If my next ivf doesn't work, I think i'm going to insist. Did you have any pain from your endo? how did you know it was back and what was your location/stage? Thx

A D&C won't have any affect on endometriosis. Endo can affect the quality of the uterine lining, but removing won't help because the lining grows back every month. Only treatment with a GnRH agonist can help with that.
Yes...I had severe pain with my endo, pain was always the first sign that it was back again. My endo was located on and in my ovaries, on my bladder and in the cul-de-sac area. I also had adenomyosis which is endo that grows in the muscular layer of the uterus. I was stage 4.
Let me know if you have more questions...I'll be happy to do what I can to answer them for you.

I also have stage 4 endo. I just had an emergency surgery about a week ago to get rid of some of the endo. The doc said that she was able to get 80% of the scar tissue out. My dh wants to try IVF again but I am so scared that it is going to come back or my cycle will not work. I have been through so much the past 2 years with dealing with this endo and I guess I am just looking for some hope. BC when you had you angels were you able to do it natural or did you have to do IVF?

My first pregnancy was natural, my second pregnancy was clomid/IUI. Both pregnancies were before my endo was diagnosed in my early 20s. I was never able to get pg after the endo was diagnosed.
Many women with stage four endo do get pregnant. It takes effort and timing with treatments, but it does happen. Don't give up hope!

THanks shelli...I"m not sure what to do. SUpposed to be starting ivf this week (and really want to). I have definitely had pains from my period the last few months, but tolerable (the heating pad and some celebrex helps). NOthing compared to what it was before the surgery. I had stage 1 in the cul de sac of the uterus, they said it was very deep but only in that one area.
My doc thinks it's too soon to have grew back....Does it sound like it may be back for me? If this ivf doesn't work, I'm doing doing exploratory lap!

THanks so much. Saw my doc today, discussed everything with him. This will be my last cycle before surgery. Starting with clomid and then injectables (i'm a poor responder)...FSH was 9.5 ( higher than it's been in the past). Wish me luck!!!!!!!!!!
