In 2006 I had a laparoscopy done, for a cyst on my left ovary. When My dr. got inside me, he found the cyst was a lot bigger than he expected. So with that I had half of the left ovary removed; there was still some healthy tissue left- so my dr. left the other half of my ovary.
with my left tube, I guess it was damaged or something; I forget exactly. So.... half of it was removed along with half of the ovary.
now I have half of my left ovary & half of my left tube left. the remaining left tube is dilated. I'm wondering how exactly does the tube become dilated? is that in result of the endometriosis? I never imagined that I would have a dilated non-functional tube.
I had an HSG test done, 1st test I had in 2007- both tubes had tubal obstruction. So I guess my right tube was blocked.
I had a 2nd HSG test done a couple weeks ago & my right tube is open.
I'm wondering something, how could my tube open up; if it wasn't open before? I thought the endometriosis blocked my right tube.
Lets see... I did IVF in 2007, I've done it 3x's; cuz we thought my tubes were both blocked. My ob/gyn told me that the best option of getting pregnant would be doing IVF, plus my husband has low sperm count/poor motility.
With doing IVF, I did get pregnant the first time, eggs were really poor quality; But miscarried. We used my husbands sperm; but I'm not sure if that's what caused the miscarriage.
With my 2nd cycle, we increased my stimulation medication dosage & I ended up getting only 1 egg & multiple endo cysts. Since I've had 3 surgeries I guess my FSH level is slightly high (around 11.5) so I guess with my response to medication it's sort of poor.
3rd cycle, we did an appropriate medication dosage I got I think 6 eggs. the eggs were much better quality-we used donor sperm. My dr. transferred 5 eggs; I didn't get pregnant. I have no idea why it didn't work & I"m not pregnant.
It's weird, I'm confused- cuz the first time I did get pregnant; the eggs were very poor quality. My 3rd cycle- eggs were a lot better quality & I didn't get pregnant. Anybody have any ideas?
Lets see... since my right tube is open & I have a non-functional left tube, severe endometriosis, Half of my left ovary is gone, I'm wondering if anybody knows If it's possible to get pregnant?
My husband also has poor motility & low count.
I get a lot of cysts on my left side, so I"m not sure if that's interferring with ovulation at all? I have read that when you have a cyst, it can disrupt your ovulation, & follicles. I"m wondering if anybody knows anything about that?
another thing I'm wondering is: with ovulation, does it switch sides each month? I have a blocked tube so I'm not sure really.
I get cysts on my left side, so I"m not sure if that's the side i ovulate from most? If that's possible.
I would appreciate any help, suggestions.
thanks,
Bonnie

I have one question...have you ever treated the endometriosis? By treated I mean have it removed during lap and then doing treatment with a GnRH agonists such as Lupron. The reason I ask is that if there is any endo present it can really reduce your chances of a successful pregnancy. Endo does not only cause physical obstruction (blocked tubes) it also causes implantation problems in the uterus and affects egg quality.
