I need meds that don't cause weight gain.

I need antidepressants. I've been in such a blue mood lately. I'm on a diet, lonely at work, overwhelmed with school and not being the best mom I can be. I don't want to take anything that will contribute to weight gain. Any ideas I can check out?

I was on Paxil for 5-6 years and over that time I gained 50+ pounds. I didn't know if it was directly related to, but I CAN tell you that I was constantly in the gym for hours, watching calories and could not lose a pound. My doctor said it could be a combintation of my meds that I am on. Weight gain is a side effect of Paxil. When I was switched to Welbutrin 2 months ago, I have noticed a BIG change. The best...I have lost 20 pounds.

I am on mirtrazpine and I eat like a hog! It is the only thing that is working for the depression and anxiety so far. Guess the side effects of hunger and weight gain are not that bad. It could be worse... like the tardive dyskenesia (involuntary muscle spasms that can be permanent). Glad my Dr. realized that and I got off of that one!

I took Wellbutrin. It gave me energy and I lost weight. Good luck!
