Heterotpoic pregnancy (crossing my fingers)

So I went to my OB on 1/4/07 to confirm my pregnancy (LM 11/29/06). Well, it's so-so good news. First the OB took a basic urine pregnancy test and it came out positive. However, when we did the ultrasound we found a gestational sac (at least that is what my OB thinks it is but she can not confirm it quite yet) in my uterus but then in my left ovary area my OB THINKS that she sees another sac or "pseudosac"(not good). To tell you the truth she is not sure what it is in my left ovary. Basically, to put it bluntly I have a good chance that I could have an heterotopic pregnancy.

This is very rare, however but not so rare when on infertility medication (like I was).

I am so sad, scared and depressed.

I had to take a blood test while I was at my OB to check my hcg (turned out that the level of HCG level was within a 5 week pregnancy; which is a good good thing) and I took another one yesterday. My hcg levels doubled!! Yeah! However, this only confirms that I have a pregnancy but this does not tell us which sac is the viable pregnancy. Is it the one in my uterus or the one in left ovary area? So, Monday I have to take another hcg test to see if my numbers will double again. However, the true test will be on 1/11/2006 when I go in for another ultrasound to determine the location of the viable pregnancy. I am crossing my fingers!

I am trying to stay positive but it's so hard not knowing until this Thursday.

These next five days are going to drag on by so slowly

Please have them monitor you very closely. If you do indeed have a heterotopic pg the best thing would be to form a plan to save the in-utero pg before you reach crisis-mode with a rupture.

I am a heterotopic "success" if you will. While my tube ruputured and I required emergency life-saving (for me) surgery as well as many blood transfusions (I was on heparin) my in-utero baby made it and is now a healthy two year old.

If you have any pain or pressure at all go to the ER immediately. I'll be keeping you close in my thoughts and prayers over the next 5 days

Good Luck!!! It is good that your numbers are doubling. That is a good sign that the in-utero pregnancy is viable.

I will keep my fingers crossed.

Mochaswirl:

Hope that the blood tests came out with good number and the utero baby is doing well.

Same as Chris mentioned, please go to the ER if you feel abnormal - including feeling like constipation and/or extreme weekness/ cold sweat ...

Numbers did not double

So, I got my results of my Hcg test result last night and the numbers were not that great. My hcg numbers did not double but they did increase some what. I think my hcg number is around 5600 as of yesterday(Thursday it was 2100). My OB (who also happens to be a close friend) is trying to get me in today at her friend's office (who happens to be next door to her office). The reason why is the other office has state of the art ultrasound and they can determine if and where I have a viable pregnancy. I have a stress headache that turned into a migraines since this past Saturday. I just want to know! This is driving me nuts! So, now I am waiting to hear from my OB to see if I come in today.

Please, please let there be a viable pregnancy in the right place.

Thank you all for you listening and thinking positive for me.

As my husband has told me "Hope for the best and prepare for the worst."

I will let you all know as soon as I can. Keep me in your thoughts!

Awesome News!!

I got a call from my OB this morning and she asked if I could come in right away for the ultrasound and of course I said that I could. Well, the result of my ultrasound is that I do NOT have a heterotopic pregnancy not even an ectopic pregnancy!!! I have a large cyst on my right ovary and some smaller cysts on my left ovary. I got to hear and see the baby's heart beat. Everything looks great! I guess my OB needs to update her ultrasound machine because the one next door was state of the art and they could see everything clearly. I am so happy, elated , relieved and tired.

THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU ALL FOR SENDING POSITIVE THOUGHTS!! THANKS FOR BEING THERE FOR ME.

The only thing that I have to watch out is preeclampsia which I had with my son, which I was on bed rest for my last trimester.
