Shipped to wrong address!! HELP

I just ordered a Dooney wallet off of Ebay. Both my ebay and my paypal address say Moore Ok, 73160. However my package was shipped and delivered to Oklahoma City Ok, 73160. I did not purchase insurance on this item because she was charging $6 for it. I paid with existing paypal funds. Am I going to be covered for this, or am I out $$?

I'm so pissed off. This happens ALL the time. My subdivision is fairly new, first house went up 2 years ago, and it still doesn't always show up on official maps. For some reason the PO, UPS etc is ALWAYS changing the address on their shipping labels. So over half my packages end up at the wrong house. I had a large box of items from the LA board shipped to this womans house and she took something out of the box. She never takes it back, just keeps it, so i highly doubt I'll see this wallet. I finally just drove up to her house to get it. Its not really an option to do that this time, as the area wasn't exactly safe, and I probably shouldn't have stopped there the first time.

Please tell me i'm covered by either paypal or ebay. I have sent an email to the shipper but haven't gotten a reply yet.

I think you need to start with the post office. Tell them that you've got a DC that shows delivery to the WRONG city!!! And they need to go back over there and get it and bring it to YOU!

If the DC shows delivery to the wrong city you may be covered...but it's gonna be kinda tricky because the zip code is the same.....which is the post office's fault.

WARNING!! I'm about to ask a stupid question: So, this woman lives on a street with the same name as yours, and the same house number, but she's in OKC and you're in Moore? I used to live in Lawton and went to OKC all the time, so I know that there are a lot of 'numbered' streets (1st, 2nd, SE 47th, etc.).

Anyway, so sorry this has happened to you. I would get on the phone to the PO IMMEDIATELY and let them know what is up. I doubt, though, that they will go back and do anything about it, but you need to talk to whoever is in charge and get this all straightened out so that it won't happen again.

Did the seller have your address as OKC or Moore? I'm not sure what recourse you will have since you didn't purchase insurance. Even if you did have insurance, I'm not sure what could be done because it was DELIVERED--albeit to the WRONG address. Is your zip also a OKC zip, or is it exclusive to Moore?

I had a lot of trouble with the PO when we lived in OK. We had to move out of the house we were renting because the owners hadn't paid their mortgage in months, so I had our mail forwarded to our new address. BUT, the family who had lived in the house prior to us had the same last name as us, AND one of their children had the same first name as DH, so they were always getting our mail, and we would always get their mail. I always took their mail to them, but they would never bring us ours until I showed up at their house with something for them. I spent so much time on the phone with the PO and even there in person trying to get it straightened out, and finally, they started forwarding our mail, but to this day we still get mail for the other family.

Anyway, I wish you luck. If I still lived in OK, I'd drive up and go with you to get your package. I'd bring my friend with me from the FBI as security--she has a weapon. Let us know what happens.

Well I called the PO this morning and raised he$$ with them. They tried to tell me they couldn't do anything and I'd just have to hope that the lady returned it. Ya right, that wouldn't happen. He did tell me that I *could* go pick it up if I wanted, but actually told me to "be careful". WTF, so he obviously knows the neighborhood. So I let them know that if they did not send someone over there ASAP to get my d$#n package, I was calling the channel 5, "5 on your side" crew. This is ridiculous, this happens ALL the time.

Anyway, DH and I went to a movie this afternoon and guess what was in my mail box when i got home!!!! Yep, they went back and picked it up. They were supposed to call me to let me know that the problem was fixed, and my caller ID says nothing, so i'm going to have to call again. I guess I'll have to keep adding my little "addressing note" on all my auctions etc.

But i'm happy, I have my wallet, and it matches my handbags very well.

Edited to add: The shipper still hasn't gotten back with me either, but she did address it correctly, so the problem was not her.

Oh BTW, the package was of course opened, then re-taped. I guess she felt the need to check out my goods.

Not a stupid question. Thats exactly what happened. We have the same address except hers is OKC and mine is Moore, we also have different zipcodes.
