    # of egg donor follicles?

I just received a call from my Dr.'s office to give me an update after my egg donor's ultrasound. It turns out she has 11 follicles so they are going to up her meds. and have her come in for another ultrasound on Monday. She is a proven donor and the last time she donated they retrieved 22 eggs and 15 were fertilized. I guess I was a little surprised that that she only had 11 follicles. I was just wondering from your experience how much of a difference will upping her meds. make.

Welcome! How many days has she been on stims? All four of my cycles have been slow starts but by day 7-9, things get cranking and numbers generally double. I, too, usually have between 16-22 eggs but it varies soooo much. What type of protocol is she doing?

I believe it is cycle day 9 as the tentative dates for the egg retrieval was supposed to be around Tues.-Thurs. of next week. I'm not sure what type of protocol she is doing. I go in tomorrow for my lining check ultrasound so hopefully I will find out more then. This is my first egg donor cycle, so this is all new to me.

Wishing you the BEST of luck!!! I've gone as long as 13 days. My RE once said, "it's not how you start the race, it's how you finish" so don't get bummed if it goes longer than 9. That's just an estimate.
