    Please help....embryo question

Hello all.....I have a question. I'm doing IVF using an egg donor. we had 16 eggs retrieved monday, 7 of them fertilized. I was scheduled for my transfer this morning (day 3 after retrieval). But they called me & said...."we have wonderful news, all 7 embryos have made it to blastocyst so don't come in today, we will do your transfer saturday instead. I'm so very excited about this, but also very nervous. How many of you had 5 day transfers of blastocysts, how many of you got BFP with the blasts, & how many of you got negatives??????? Please help I want all the input that I can get.

That's wonderful news for you, Praying4it!! The fact that they all made it to blast shows that they ALL are growing pretty strong and have a greater chance of sticking with you for the long haul! My clinic always tries to do 5 day transfers because of their higher success, unfortunately my last transfer ended in a chemical. But the RE says that at least one did initially take, and it turns out I had other immune issues that I am now being treated for. My next donor IVF transfer will be sometime between April 27 and 30. I'm feeling very optimistic...for the both of us!!

Yes, I agree that is great news!! Most RE's prefer to do a 5 day transfer so they can truly pick the
best and strongest. Good luck on your cycle!!!

I was originally scheduled for a 3 day transfer and had two lead blasts that looked the same. I was very insistent that I only wanted to trasnfer one. We scheduled a 5 day and one was a bit ahead of the other so it helped make the decision which to transfer. I ended up freezing two. I am now 14 weeks pregnant.

    Good luck.
