ohmybaby: I'm glad to hear that your scratch biopsy went well and that there was no residual discomfort. It sounds like it will really help the embie stick--I am very excited for you! Thanks for the detailed information you provided about RBA--I know that it will be very useful for anyone considering them.
Q: Thanks for checking in and for cheering us on--your success has definitely been an inspiration!
AFM: My DH had to complete a couple of tests today--now everything is done and it is just a matter of getting the results to RBA by the end of this week. If it doesn't happen I think I will be crushed!Me - 43, DH - 44

Eggs,
I know how the crushed feeling goes. Mine was my mammogram report which had just expired 2 days before I got all the other test results to them. Luckily, I already had it done I was just waiting on the report and no one would give it to me. So frustrating. Of course it was Friday at 1 pm when they figured it out and my doctors office that had the report was closed.
I had to take a lot of deep breaths but decided the weekend was what I needed to just let go of all the stress and control that I thought I had in this process and just know that it would all work out. I was so excited to get in the bank and for me that was the point that I finally felt like things were moving forward. Testing isn't the fun part at all! So I do understand your excitement and stress over this part.
Your day is coming. I would suggest staying on top of whoever needs to send those reports over and remind them of what you are waiting on to happen (start your IVF process). Everyone I told that the reports were holding me up from starting my IVF cycle were really trying to help get things done as fast as possible for me.
I decided this was a good learning experience for all the things I can't control with the pregnancy and once the baby comes.

eggsover40, the testing time is extremely stressful, for sure. I remember the multiple phone calls I had to make in a day to get results faxed. IT was part of the reason I chose to not use my former clinic for monitoring locally. After I chose my donor, my PAP "expired", but RBA worked with me while we waited for the new results. And after the transfer, I had to choose where to have RBA fax the orders for mylocal monitoring. And the trouble with getting results started up again. Each stage takes so much out of you (or at least feels that way) but keep at it. The end results will be worth it.

Ohmybaby and Q: thank you for the words of encouragement. I will keep at it and try to stay positive. Two more test results were sent to RBA yesterday--yeah! But I found out that I have to re-do my cultures because the lab couldn't process them for some reason--grr!

Eggs, I'm sorry that you are having to do something again and wait on those results. You'll get it done and get in that cycle. I know you are targeting mid December so you should still be good to go.
PrayerMom you've been quiet lately. Everything ok? I was expecting to hear you've started your cycle this week. Keep us posted.
Also, someone replied to another thread I had posted on before this one looking for a November cycle partner with RBA. I told her to jump on here with us, she started her Lupron cycle yesterday and is about the same time frame for ET as you are Eggs around the 2nd week of December. Looks like at this point, I'm the first one with ET expected Dec. 1 or 3 for me.

Just wondering if anyone had trouble getting things started. I submited my email info and got a call from Melissa (Dr. Toledo's assistant) the next day. I returned her call and then it took a few days for her to call me back. I spoke with her last Friday and she said she would be sending me an email with a list of everything they needed. By Tuesday I hadn't received it so I called and she told me I would probably get it that day. It's now Thursday afternoon and I haven't gotten anything. I'm thinking of calling back but at the same time don't want to be a nuisance. I'm not planning on doing this until the new year but would like to get as much done as soon as possible.
Can't wait for all you guys to get started!!Me: 45, DOR, fibroids

They were so on the ball with me it was crazy. Never did I even wait a full day for an email response from Dr. Shapiro's nurse Mary. Once I got my donor ID and started communicating with the DE nurse, exactly the same level of responsiveness...actually even better. She was emailing me one evening everything I needed and I had replied after I thought she would have been gone but she was still working. The day I confirmed my donor and sent in my selection form she emailed me the protocol for my Prime cycle, the protocol for my "real" cycle, and called in my prescriptions for my prime all after 5 pm.
I went to ACRM here in Atlanta first and that was the way I was treated there, very difficult to get a response back and too many delays on their end. When I met with Dr. Shapiro the first time I told him that and he told me that their goal is that all the patients "feel the love" and if I ever didn't "feel the love" to make sure that I personally told him because he would make sure that I was happy.
The one time I was frustrated because last minute they stopped me from getting in the donor bank because of my mammogram report having expired 2 days prior to that day but already having it done and just waiting on a report, HE personally called me to make sure he explained their policy and also to let me know that the DE coordinator was gone for the day already and HE personally would make sure that I got a donor bank ID on Monday if he had to call for my mammogram report himself to the imaging center.
I would say based on everyone else's response that this is not normal. I would call and maybe even ask to speak to someone else. Your timing isn't the issue here, you want to get everything done so that when the time comes, you aren't waiting on a report to be sent over that you didn't know about. You see what's going on with Eggs right now, she's being delayed due to an unreadable lab test. Anything can happen and it's better to have as much time to mull over the donor bank as you need or want.

sfwife: I don't know what to say. I never had issues like that with them. Hmmm. I guess give them another call.

funny how things happen ... about an hour after I posted, I received an email from Melissa with an apology for sending it so late, apparently she had sent it earlier to the wrong address...I feel better now.
