Feel free to start one here. Or you can start one under Infertility > cycle groups. There you can keep long threads whereas here, they make you start new threads every few weeks and you can lose friends.

Hi all, so sorry I didn't respond. Took a break thinking about DE due to job loss! Just when you think it can't get any worse . . .
Anyway - I'd still like to get some feedback if you guys are still around. I am wishing that you have had nothing but the best luck so far! We are still planning on getting started at some point this year, not sure when yet.

Hi Maggie!
I just completed a DE cycle at CNY and I'm happy to say I'm Pregnant!
CNY was absolutely wonderful, especially for me being out of state.
The donor coordinator was absolutely wonderful and attentive as well.
I would be glad to answer any questions!

Congratulations!!!!
What fantastic news, I am very very happy for you.
We are at a standstill again trying to make a decision. My husband lost his job and now has something short-term. He also has a very good lead on something else, but it will be less money at least for awhile. We are okay financially, but trying to figure how much of our savings to wipe out right now. We had decided to do a single cycle so that we could pick any donor and start right away, keep all the eggs, have better odds, etc. Now I'm wondering if we should do a split cycle. It's so hard to know what to do.
Also, as of December 23rd, their office has added package deals from 2 to 6 cycles. Now I'm wondering if I should do one of those.
Which one did you do?

m/c ment'd
I've done two split cycles.
If I were planning for siblings for certain from the cycle, I would do a single transfer with a donor who has produced pregnancies and frozen blasts in prior cycles.
I found it really hard choosing my first donor. (I unfortunatley m/c'd due to chromosome issues.) Second cycle, I wanted a child period and was less interested in matching all my criteria. If there is lots of time, no reason not to wait for a great match.
Good luck!

So sorry about your miscarriage Dana.
I don't know how picky I am being. I've posted on here before about my family being extremely religious conservative. I don't care if they are mad at me (they are always mad at me!) but I do care about the child being ostracized. I just don't want to subject a growing child to negative feelings about how they were conceived while they are still figuring out their identity. So, long story short, I'm trying to match my looks as much as humanly possible. That's the hardest thing for me.
We are only looking to have one child so shared cycle would be good for that, however, we've noticed at CNY that a lot of the donors we are interested in are only cleared for single cycle. Also, I don't know what their current statistics are, but I thought I read that for 2007, their frozen embryo transfer success rates were really poor - around 20% or so. So, that makes me less inclined to do a single cycle.
There are so many pros and cons both ways
