pgoodyear: What a sweet and supportive posting to MSZ. Your story is very inspiring.
MSZ: I think that I would have felt the same way you do. I would have wanted the details. You know DR. Kiltz is sunshine and happiness, which is awesome, but I am a numbers person. I want the best facts that I can get. When we went for yet our 2nd fresh transfer, we were not told the quality until after. I was ok with that because I can not change it any way. Dr. Kiltz just said several times that they are beautiful. Following I asked to see the embryologist. Then I knew I was not just being told what I needed to here. For what it is worth, I believe you made a great choice with the frozen embryos. CNY, for whatever, reason is sooo much easier to deal with than other centers. They are GREAT, but not perfect.
GrnMtnGirl: I am soooo HAPPY for you. Please enjoy this moment!!!!
Ladies just to vent: I was so tempted to have 3 transfered, but the final thought was "How terrible it would be if we were blessed with 3 and I had to reduce." I made the right decision, we have awesome frozen embryos. If we are not successful this time around we can try again and if we are we can help someone else achieve their dream. I would find helping someone else to be a blessing too.

Hi all,
I got back last night from my FET, and I'm pleased with how things went. Dr Green did my transfer (met him for the first time) and he was super-nice. And I haven't spotted at all so he was really gentle! It was a good day. The one funny thing that happened was that the lovenox made me bleed like a stuffed pig all morning: at acupuncture right before, I bleed from my ear and forehead where the needles had been, and then after the transfer, I bled profusely from where the IV was for the intralipids. I thought DH might faint. I guess lovenox works!
Most importantly, I wanted to share with you my embryo report, because we've been talking a lot lately about grading and about frozens. As you may recall, I asked them to thaw 2 4AAs (called "excellent" when fresh) a 4BB and a 3BB (considered "fair" when fresh).
When thawed, the 4AAs became a 4BC and 4CB and the other 2 became 4CC and 4CC, so all "fair". The first 2 had started to reexpand. I got lots of pics--thawed embryos that haven't expanded basically look like all the cells are clumped together rather than filling the circle. The Cs in the grading mean the shell had greatly thickened, but as they do assisted hatching, that's not a huge deal. So I think they are ok. I have to remind myself that I don't actually want them all to be perfect since we transferred 4!
For numbers people like us, I definitely recommend having them drag in the embryologist. Satisfied my need for details big time. I do have to say that Dr Green, while he did use the beautiful line a lot like Dr K, need seem more willing to explain and educate than Dr K was, rather than just being vague and positive. I liked him!
Huge congratulations, GrnMtn--I am thrilled for you, and with quality like that, I know it will be smooth sailing.
Bighopes, I hope things are well with the 2 week wait! When is your beta? Mine is Dec 23. It's actually pretty cruel how the timing worked out for us, being so close to Christmas. It might be the best Christmas ever...or not! Yikes.

GingerGinger - thank you for saying that! I keep trying to think it will all be smooth, but, if nothing else, I'm a worrier! I was laughing about what you said re: bring in the embryologist - you sound like me! I know the drs want you to be positive so they use a lot of nice fluffy descriptors, but data is important so you know what you're dealing with. I just know this is going to go great for you!! Sounds like you have the right number put in vs grading, so you'll have a great shot. Hang in there!!!

gingerginger: my BETA is December 22nd. I hope we both have reason to celebrate. Thank you for the embryo education. I find this stuff to be very interesting, even if I were not part of the craziness.
GrnMtnGirl: Looking forward to hereing the results of your second BETA. Thoughts and Prayers to you!!!
MSZ: Do you have any idea when you will be scheduling your FET.
Any ladies out there like pgoodyear or DeniseR that has been through successful IVF transfers have lowerback pain. I do not normally have backpain, but now while I am sitting it is aching. Not normal for me. anyone have anythoughts or ideas.
