Hi Everyone,
We are just starting the DE program with Shady Grove and I still haven't talked to the financial coordinator. I was wondering if anyone is doing the shared 1:3 program and how much they told you it would cost total. I mean there is a total price for the program, but I'm wondering how much is not included that I don't know about and how much that is going to equal. If you could send me a message I would greatly appreciate it.

Shady Grove is completely up front about all costs. The only thing out of pocket is the price of your own meds: Del E, BCPs, POI , and your ins will likely cover that - so you'll only have co-pays. I started in the 1:2 then moved up to the 1:1. There are several SG Chicks on the Donor Egg Week thread. Good Luck!

:( sg
Hi Richmonder, I don't want to discourage you, but we did a 3:1 shared cycle at SG and it it did not work because the eggs we got were immature and the embryo wasn't good. We are still trying to recover and do another cycle at a smaller clinic in VA. There are definite additional costs with shared risk so be sure to get accurate information.

Hi Richmonder,
Shared donor and shared risk are two different things. You can have one of these or both at the same time. If you select shared risk shared donor 1:3 program (cost 29k), it will cover everything but your medicines upto 6 fresh and all related frozen cycles. We are interested in shared risk cycle as well but not sure if we'll go with 1:3 or 1:2. Did you get a chance to look at their donor database yet? One of our concerns is not enough donors of our choice. take care, tr. |

I wish dear there was a refund program with donor eggs in Mass. The program we are disucssing here is in DC area (called Shady Grove with multiple offices VA, MD, DC).
They have their own inhouse donors. You can google shady grove to find out more. |

SG works well with out of towners. you only have to go there for screening for shared risk. Thereafter, you only have to go for your ETs! You can do all your monitoring locally as long as they send results to SG same day.

Rhonda >> Just wondering if you are local to DC area you will have monitorning included in shared risk package, right? I know with local clinic monitoring we pay out of pocket. I paid $700 for 3 u/s last time.

tr- I am in the 1:3 SG shared risk, all inclusive ($29K). All of my preliminary tests and own meds were covered by my insurance, except for the social worker visit which cost approximately $200. Now that I qualify for the shared risk, the plan includes all other expenses, including b/w and u/s, etc.
