Letter to my recips - too cheesy?

I wrote the following letter to my recipient. I don't know if it's too cheesy or stupid to give to them. I'm still feeling the effects of all the hormones - I cried like a fool while writing this. Anyway, this is what my letter says:

Dear friend,

I've been staring at this card for a long time, and I'm struggling with putting all of my feelings into words. I want to tell you that you have my love and admiration for what you are about to do. I know that creating a family under "normal" circumstances takes a lot of courage, but going through IVF is several steps beyond courageous. I hope that you are rewarded with beautiful, healthy children.

Thank you for letting me be your donor. It was an honor to be linked to your family in this way. Most of all, I want to say: CONGRATULATIONS! I AM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!

Love,

Me

I don't think it is cheesy at all. If I were to receive a letter from my donor, I would want to know mostly that she is 100% happy and honored to donate and that she has no regrets. I think your letter is great.

Crystal, thank you for giving me some feedback.

I'm going in for my retrieval tomorrow morning. Would you cross your fingers or do whatever you do for us - my recipient and me?

Absolutely!

May your retrieval be quick, painless, and productive!

I don't know if your clinic does what ours does, but while our donor was going through her retrieval, DH had to be there to do his part at the same time. I didn't see the donor, but I knew she was there, and I focused on sending her calming happy thoughts, knowing she was going through all that for ME.

Will the RE let you know the results - how many are retrieved, how many fertilize, and of course, if the transfer to your recipient is successful?

Crystal,

Thanks for those kind thoughts. My retrieval went well. They got 24 eggs. I won't know how many embryos, but they will tell me whether my recipient gets pregnant. Other than that, I'm in the dark.

Thanks again.

Crystal: I think it is a lovely note and if I were to get something like that from my donor I would treasure it. It would be in the first part of the baby book along with the beta number and photo of the + HPT!

Congrats to you on a nice cycle.

Donor - let me tell you as a recipient - what you are doing is amazing! You are providing a way to a family - that's an amazing gift. You have no idea how unselfish you are being.

Thank you for doing what you are doing!

Thank goodness I read this thread before I start the injections...or I will really be emotionally teary eyed. Donor, this is such a thoughtful card. I am sure that family feels honored to be linked to you.

Donor 1502,

Your letter is wonderful! I believe that any recipient would be so touched by your note. You are giving them an incredible gift.....the chance to have children and be a family.

24 eggs is an awesome start! I wish everyone the best.
