What to look for when choosing a sperm bank?

Hi,

I'm currently looking to buy donor sperm, but don't really know where to begin the process. There are quite a few sperm banks to choose from out there, and I could really need some help and advice from people who have gone through this process already. Where did you begin and what things are important to look for?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Chloe

What to look for when choosing a sperm bank?

I've been doing some more research over the weekend, and have found a couple of sperm banks that look interesting to me.

1)California Cryobank, 2)Fairfax, 3)European Sperm Bank USA, and 4)Cryos.

Has any of you used or do you know someone who has used one of the above banks? Or maybe you have used another sperm bank that you would recommend?

I find this process very overwhelming, and it would mean a lot to me to hear that someone else has been through this, and what your experience has been.

Thanks so much!
Chloe

I used Calfornia Cryobank. They were ok - they kinda ticked me off with a situation but that is the bank that I had my DD from so now I am attached to them.

I really don't think one is better than the other. They are all in business to make money - not just to help people.

I have heard that Fairfax is good too. I have not even heard of the other two. I would narrow it down to two banks that you feel more comfortable with and look through the donors.

If you have any questions - feel free to ask me. And good luck to you!
