i am doing a shared cycle...

Hi Everyone! I was wondering a few things. I am doing a shared cycle. I am donating half of my ER to another woman and in return she is paying for my ivf. I was matched 3 weeks ago and was told they have to syncronizing our cycles. I have already paid my share of what i needed to (anestesia) and i am getting nervous. Could it be that the other woman backed out? How long does it usually take before you start the meds and ivf cycle? I have not heard anything, and when i called yesterday the secretary said she had no idea when it starts and she would have someone call me when they knew something. It is very out of character for my doctors office to not know something. i have been with them for years. i have done 6 IUI with them already. I never had to wait... I have never done IVF and have never been a donor. I am freaking out and i am more then anxious to start my cycle. Plus how do i plan my summer around "we dont know"......

Good luck with your shared cycle. Once matched, if you are both already on bcps then you will start Lupron a week before your next AF is due. Then you will start stims on day 2-3. Shouldn't be a long wait! Don't feel like a pest to call them and ask for info. You really have to stay on top of them. You are paying good money for their service, so don't be shy. I've had to learn to be pushy

RJC: I dont know if she is on BCP i am not. How long are you on them before you start. All the girl at the office said today was i dont think we do cycles in july...who has ever heard that? I want a date that i am to start...how do i get them to figure that out for me. she always sounds irritated when i call. And she never calls me back when she says now. Do you think my recipient backed out and they are affraid to tell me? I want to take my husband away for his birthday and i dont know how to plan if i dont know my summe schedule. I am an extremly organized person. my every day has a time schedule and this is making me crazy! How did you learn to be more pushy...What do i say to them?

No, I don't think that the other couple backed out. Sometimes it takes a while to get both ladies in the same cycle. Some people respond faster than others do. Don't get discouraged!! I hope that by now, you've gotten some word on how things are going?

As for the clinic not doing cycles in a certain month, yes, I've heard of it. Some clinics close down for an entire month to do a thorough cleaning of all of the equipment & things. I know it's frustrating. We weren't told that our 1st clinic closed for the month of June until 2 weeks before we thought we were starting!!!!!!!!

Good luck to you!!
