Excited Donor!
Hi,
I am new to these boards and I am going to be a anon donor again. I hope no one minds me posting on this board or asking for advice during my cycling. I have seemed to have forgotten how messy Lupron makes you feel. I just wanted to say I am so happy to have been selected, and I cannot wait to begin my cycle. I was a DE for a family member and saw everything she went through and it is such a rollercoaster!I wish you all the most successful cycles with wonderful outcomes and tons of babydust! I am on bcps and waiting for my schedule from my nurse. I hope my recipient gets every dream answered after her 2WW! (Sorry to sound so mushy, but sometimes I wish I could just be there to see the huge smile when she gets that positive beta call!) Here's to a wonderful cycle to all! DBee

DBee - Wow, you seem super super nice...wish you were my donor lol! No surprise you were picked again! I've been through IVF and know it is a huge committment and a very complicated, uncomfortable ordeal. Thanks for your sacrifice and enormous gift! And thanks for the well wishes to recipients like me!

Thanks Rhonda! I've been told I'm a exception to the rule when it comes to donors. I was a Gestational Carrier for my Aunt. So I have done both ends of spectrum. I've had BFN (3 of them) and 1 BFP with a miscarriage and then finally a BFP with triplets that turned into a singleton. The other 2 sacs one was blighted and the other only had the yolk sac. They were still babies to me. I was recruited by my RE's clinic for DE when I came in for my baseline and they kept thinking I was a egg donor, I had to keep telling them no I am a GS, GS! I did a donation for my other Aunt and she had twins they are too cute! Now I am anon and my experience so far has been great! Its just weird to left in the dark. I want to know my follicle count and obsess over my estrogen level dammit! LOL. I might just POS for fun after my trigger! Ah memories.
I see your gearing up for your next cycle at Shady Grove my Aunt used them and had a good experience. I wish you all the best and good luck! I've read some posts and I can't believe some donors just flake out like they do. They should be required to do some failed IVF training or something just to see what DE recipients go through. I met some other donors when I went through my processing and I tried to talk to them and tell them how important it was, I tried! Hopefully it got through to them. I guess most donors don't get the full picture. Ok I'll get off my soapbox. I just wanted to make sure it was ok if I posted and cheered some of you on. I really hope and pray my reciepient gets tons of eggies and a BFP. Does acupunture help? I am doing tons of protien and salt and Gatoraide and Propel. I want them to be as healthy and strong when they meet Mom and Dad! I've got a bit of time before my cycle starts but it's good to prep now! Have a great day! |

DBee - Wow, how generous! I'm sure it meant alot to your aunt to have someone she knows and love help her acheive her family. It must be very rewarding for you too. I can speak for every recipient on this board, they would LOVE to have more interactions with donors on this board! It's nice to share both ends of the spectrum and feel the bond most of us are lacking due to annonomous programs. SO PLEASE take that as an invitiation to stick around!
I chose Shady Grove because of the unique program with refund options. That way if we aren't successful, we have finaces for adoption. The bummer is that it is annonmous because I would LOVE to meet my donors if they were comfortable to do so- so they can see the sincerity and appreciation. I asked my nurse if I could atleast mention in my note that we'd be registered on the donorsibling registry in the event they ever wanted to reach out to us, but they wouldn't let me ![]() I can't say I'm totally convinced on SG screening in terms of physcial requirements and I agree that some donors have no idea what to expect. Heck, I didn't either! My first donor couldn't take the injections I suppose and tried to fake her way through it. Unfortunately, I was plugging away with mine. I have no ill feeling though, I understand how difficult it is and I'm glad she at least considered it and tried. Accup does help and is proven so. It increases blood flow and nutrients and warmth to the "infant's palace" It also regulates hormones and for me, kept me ovulating regularly every month. Sadly, I have some immunity issues we are trying to address with this cycle I am starting. We are doing what we can afford and hoping for success. I hope you'll stick around and let us support you as you go through your cycle! Take care and GOD BLESS

Thanks Rhonda, I'll be around for awhile, I got my schedule and I don't start stims until August. HoHum. That's ok it was kinda my fault anyway I guess I didn't expect to get picked so soon. My donor RN gave me this speech about how it could take months to get matched, be patient, keep us updated with any changes, etc, etc, etc and then she called me back a few days later. I thought she forgot to tell me something and she told me I was picked! LOL. BCP's then lupron and all that other fun stuff. I can't wait. God Bless to you and your hubby and precious dogs. I want a dog but I'm never home.
Amanda thank you for the welcome! Who are you going through an agency or a RE's clinic? I'll say some prayers and wish you luck on finding your couple soon! It can be such a wait! DBee |

I am with a clinic that is not much help at all so I am looking for another one. The one I went with doesnt return emails ever and put up a profile that is almost empty, even after she made me redo the whole thing with a lot of info.

Well as luck would have it I may have a couple that want to use me. They are waiting to see if their surrogate is pregnant for another couple first if not they are going to use me. YAY! They seem so great and they live near me.

Amanda,
That is awesome news!!!! WTG!!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you and hope their GS is ready to go! I was going to post and tell you to maybe look into doing Indy(you probably have explored most of your options) If it doesn't work out, branch out maybe to a larger clinic. That is the reason I think I was picked alot sooner than a regular RE clinic. My clinic is fairly large and the Donor Coordinator's are really great at matching people. I had a interview with my nurse and she asked me alot of questions and I know that the families find that alot more helpful than a piece of paper, I think my couple had alot of questions she kept coming back and asking me. Even if you are far away, my son's teacher was a repeat egg donor for a clinic in CT, and we are nowhere close to CT. Although I think she told me she was with a agency. It takes a special person to be a dedicated egg donor and you seem like you really want to help someone, I'm sure there is someone special looking just for you! Congrats again and good luck! |

This couple would rather do it without an agency but she says she has a doctor and would get the lawyer and all that. I agreed because I dont like what I am seeing with my agency so far. This couple seems great and I hope it works out. So if their surrogate doesnt get pregnant then they dont really need me but if she does get pregnant for the other couple then they are gonna use my eggs and another surrogate. |
