Anyone who has used an independant donor!
Hi! I found a donor who is not with an agency. She is a perfect match for us. I just dont know how to go about all the legal paperwork, psych eval, history questionaire etc and the transference of money. Anyone gone through this before?

I found my donor more than 3 years ago on surrosmom and I did the legal paper work, psych evaluation and insurance all by myself by doing research on the internet. Just google egg donor contract and you'll get a blueprint, and then you can also find the psych evaluator from the doctors office. Insurance is also online, good luck.

Hi Sammysmom! I really appreciate you sharing this info with me. I found the blueprints for the egg donor contract. I also saw egg donor insurance through New Life Agency and BBTexas. Do you remember who you used? But, (excuse my ignorance) what is the psych evaluater from the doctors office? Did you have a psychologist look it over?
Did your Dr.'s office have a problem at all with not going through an attorney for the donor contract or did you actually have an attorney review the contract? Also, how did you dispense the money as needed to the donor? Did you keep your names anonymous? I really appreciate the help with answering these questions. I think it should help alot to keep the cost from being more expensive than it already is. Jenn PS I tried to PM you but it was full |

We used a donor from our clinic, but I know MANY independent donors from another website I've been on for years. It's allaboutsurrogacy.com. They have a couple sections where you can ask & get answers to your questions.
Good luck!!!! |

As far as the transferring of money, you need to make sure that it's not illegal in your state. Otherwise, you & the donor could get in all kinds of legal trouble, including jail time and/or very hefty fines! If it's not legal in your state, you'd have to be extremely careful about any money transferring hands!
Good luck!
