Hi bebe and Jules!

Thanks so much for thinking of me and asking how thigns are going!!! I'm doing okay -- we've made it to 34 weeks now, and the OB says all looks good. Both babies are growing well. Ian (the boy) has his head really far down pressing against the cervix (which is still closed). Lilah is off to the side -- she wiggles & moves around so much!

We're scheduled for a c-section on August 11- less than 4 weeks from now.
But the OB says if I start contracting earlier than that, we'll go ahead and do the c-s then.

Physically, I've been incredibly tired. Dealing with achy hands & feet, carpal tunnel syndrome, acid reflux, and a back that can't handle much sitting up. Can't go out of the house but once a day (there are 40 steps up to the driveway from the cottage). So I rest a lot, tossing & turning to try to get comfortable... Meanwhile, we're trying to make sure our house gets finished and we get moved back in two weeks from now! All I can do to help is make a few phone calls here and there and manage our "to-do" list. I do manage to get to the YMCA to walk in the pool 3x a week - that really helps with all the symptoms - and all the older ladies there are so friendly & supportive.

Emotionally, I've been feeling tired and weepy, a bit overwhelmed, a bit excited, a bit frustrated that I can't do more right now, impatient to meet the babies, a bit scared about the birth, so grateful and in awe of what's about to happen... you name it! Apparently other women also experience a torrent of emotion at about 34 weeks... beneath it all I know, deep down, that everything will work out just fine...

How are you both doing???

Kat

pregnancy mentioned

Kat,

It was so wonderful to get your update. You are almost there. Wow, I can only imagine the emotions you are feeling right now. Just think.....you will be holding your precious babies very soon! It sounds like you've done so much so that your little babies will be nice and comfortable once they are here. How do you go up and down your 40 stairs? I'm only a little over 9 wks with a singleton and don't think I could do that now! Sorry to hear about the physical symptoms you are experiencing. It will all be worth it. Please keep us posted.

I'm still working insane hours. I have decided I'm not going to wait until I'm 12-15 wks to tell the SVP of my dept I'm pregnant. I'm going to tell them next week. That way I can start to cut back on my hours. They started to assign some business trips for me for November so I want to let them know asap that I can't go. I've been pretty nauseous and every little scent makes me feel worse. Some days I practically eat everything in sight and other days the sight of any food makes me sick. I still get very nervous that something bad will happen with my pregnancy. All these years of disappointment has conditioned me to be this way. I will have IVIg again next weekend and am on lovenox. Hopefully that will keep my little bean hapy.

Kat, I hope you are doing great. I'm thinking of you and your precious little ones. Thanks again for all your support.

xoxox,
Jules

Hi Jules & BC --

Thanks for your warm wishes! 2.5 weeks to go, and my mom is here to help out -- thank goodness!

Jules, hang in there with the nausea. Hopefully you'll be one of those women for whom that phase passes as you enter the 2nd trimester. I also totally understand your apprehensions.... I didn't begin to relax and allow myself to plan and indulge in baby fantasies until I hit 25 weeks!

BC, I will certainly keep you posted!

Kat-the system went down a few days ago when replying to your post-I'm so ticked it never posted b/c it was so long.
Anyhow, 34 wks is awesome w/ twinnies. I know you must be feeling incredibly overwhelmed, but I am convinced that every woman on here who has gone to the ends of the earth to get our children, will be excellent mommies. I'm hoping you get all moved in b/f they come. i can;t belive you're blessed w/ a boy and girl and waht awesome names!!!!!Have you been keeping your cousin posted.

I am 29 weeks today and having a baby girl-I am overwhelmed w/ just one on the way and only recently have I been gathering information for her when she grows up abt the donor. DH is completely in love already. Our OB has a 4D u/s so we got a great snapshot and DVD of our little chubby cheek girl, who is 3# now. I'm starting to settle into the fact that I'm really going to have a baby and have become more confident. I think that I just needed some sperm and then my body figured out the rest. The nursery is ready and we have 2 showers planned, so i'm getting excited for them. I still have not lost what being w/out felt like, so i am ultra sensitive to tohers just in case.We are going al natural w/ L&D. I am very attached to the birth experience, esp if I never get the opportunity again.

I hope you're in the process of moving in and those babes keep growing happy and healthy.
Bebe
