list of questions asked to donor
I am wondering if any one has done egg donation through an agency and was provided with a detailed list of questions asked to the donor.
I was so nervous today when they did the presentation, I couldn't think of anything and they did not give us alot of info. I want to make sure I do not leave out anything that is very impontant. The donor process at our clinic is anonymous and they do not give us anything written. I would like to have as much info as I can to make the selection and also to give to my child some day. I am trying to be hopeful. Thanks! Diane

It's overwhelming alright... I remember those days.
Browsing the web for other ED agencies may give you some insight. You could even call some and question them, no strings attached, or have them send you the info. After looking at three agencies myself, I didn't like any of them for various reasons, they all seemed to have the same questions; none of which very in depth in my opinion, especially in the what-if department which at the time really mattered to me since some of my fears needed to be addressed. Ultimately, you have to ask yourself what characteristics matter to you and be sure that question is asked. If it's a lifestyle question depends again what matters to you or a WHAT-IF question, it's a matter of thinking of those ![]() GL, CS |

Hi, Diane. I'm sorry to read about your m/c on your other thread. I hope this cycle and this ED are a huge success.
I'm sure there are much more comprehensive lists but here's what I remember from the profiles we looked at: Education -- This was the most important thing to me; I think it speaks volumes about someone. Healthy family history -- If DH has cancer in his family, DC might suggest avoiding it in an ED. Physical features. Ethnicity. Family members and their health histories. Fertility history -- if she's had an abortion, live birth, etc. If she's had a live birth, she states sex and weight. A message to the intended parents -- usually a reason for donating. Talents, interests, what she excelled in in school. Tattoos, piercings, travel abroad, past STDs, any other risk factors. How she describes herself -- outgoing, perfectionist, creative, athletic, etc. I can't think of anything else right now. But best of luck to you! Jennifer |
