Letrozole

I'm getting ready to start my first IUI at the end of this month and my RE is having me take Letrozole instead of Clomid. My RE says the side effects of Letrozole are significantly less than with Clomid.

I was wondering if anyone has used Letrozole and if they had any side effects.

Thanks

Hi Slick,

I just used Letrozole for the first time for my ds IUI. I didn't have any side effects but I also didn't have any while taking Clomid. I just used Clomid 7 times my RE thought he should switch me.
Letrozole has been used for treating breast cancer but is not approved for fertility treatment. But I was told it was a lot safer than Clomid and the chances of having a child with a birth defect is less than Clomid.
I am going to try it one more time to see how it goes.

Good luck.

Shino

I have taken letrozole to get pregnant with my DS. It work for me but had to take clomid for awhile and had to quit because of the side effects and mood swings were so bad. I started taking letrozole and never had a side effect.... Good luck
