Sweet DE story to share

I am on another board where a woman posted a story I simply had to share. I'm paraphrasing it here:

"Just the other day I was watching my kids, and I simply started crying. I 'm not really sure why... maybe because sometimes it's still hard to believe that I'm actually a mother now. Or perhaps because I can't imagine ever loving anyone as much as I love these two kids. After nearly 5 years I still look at them and cry because they're mine, and I am lucky enough to be their mom...
"Because we've been telling them about DE from an early age, they haven't really asked any questions about it. But the other day DD says to me, 'why did the lady give you her eggs?? were your eggs cracked???' Holding back my laughter, I told her that my eggs were beyond cracked -- that they were also fried and scrambled. And I told her I was glad that they were because that's how I got to be her mommy. Then she said, 'I'm glad that they were so you could be my mommy.'"

I thought it was the most beautiful thing and just wanted to share it.

Best,
Kat

I'm a donor myself and reading this is one of the reasons I am so pleased to be a part of the process! All you intended parents on this board are amazing I I often lurk here and cheer for you all. You kind, loving, and deserving ladies are the reason I donate!

Kat - Thanks for sharing that beautiful story. If I am so fortunate to conceive I have no doubt that I will be that grateful and thankful every day, and that even in the most trying moments a mother can have, I will so appreciative.

Lucky Mom - Thanks for such a heart-felt post. I am in pre-screening now and my clinic was explaining their screening process and how they try to stay away from people who seem too money motivated. I know it's not an extreme amount of $$. But one never knows if they are saying that for the means of getting your business.

It feels so good that someone would be so generous and can empathize with those who are struggling to become parents. One of the donors I am considering said that if she found out she couldn't concieve after having given her eggs to someone else, how she would feel about it. She said she would be sad, but would pursue DE and hope that someone would be so kind to give her that gift.

I think clinics should recommend potential donors come these sights and see just how loving and appreciative people here are. As one who has been struggling for 2 years, with 3 natural conception m/c, I can say that it is a very shameful, guilty, and lonely place to be. You feel like you are the only one in the world who cannot have a child b/c it is all around you. Not that I would wish IF on anyone, but I am so happy to have the support I have here.

Again, thanks for lurking, for posting and most of all...your very genuine, kind-heartness. You are giving to others the most invaluable gift anyone could every want. God bless you!!!

Rhonda

m/c and living children mentioned

Thank for sharing Kat!

I've often thought that way about my children. Although my m/c's were devastatingly painful, if I had not had them, I would not now have these particular two wonderful beings in my life now. Ghastly thought.

If I conceive through DE, I hope I feel the way this woman did.
