My donor has an estrogen producing cyst
I have been waiting to start a donor egg cycle since the beginning of March. First my donor’s AF was delayed almost 2 weeks and I was on BC waiting for my donor to get AF. Finally at the end of March the donor and I both started lupron. After 2 weeks I was fully suppressed, however the donor had an estrogen producing cyst (This happened last Tuesday.) The donor went back for a baseline scan and bloodwork yesterday and the cyst is still there (it did get smaller) and her estrodiol level is still elevated (but lower than last week.) I am so frustrated at this point and can’t seem to stop worrying that this is some kind of sign for me. Has anyone else had a similar experience? How long did it take for the cyst to go away and for the estrogen levels to go down enough for the donor to be able to start stims meds? Also, is this normal for a 29 year old donor? I am so worry at this point. I would appreciate any advice and positive experiences.

I don't have the answer to your question as I have never used a ED, however when I was cycling in 2006 (28 yrs old) I had a large cyst. I do not remember where in my cycle I was. My RE drained it (painful!!!). But it worked. Maybe they can do that???

Paula - When I did IVF with my own eggs, the Lupron gave me a giant-a*s cyst. They just went in and drained it and there was no delay in the cycle. Fingers crossed that it won't delay your cycles.
Best wishes, Rhonda |

Paula~ I had the exact same thing happen to me. I was scheduled to begin my cycle at the beginning March and my donor got her period late. We had to cancel for that month due to my coordinator being out of town for several days. When we were finally back on track they discovered a cyst.
What ended up happening is that I had to stay on Lupron (for over 2 months) while they kept checking my donor. She finally got the "all clear" about 2 weeks ago. The donor started stims 7 days ago and we are just waiting for ER. I know how much it stinks to have your cycle delayed and how you keep questioning if this is even meant to be. I wish I had some clear answers for you but I don't. What I can tell you is that the women on this board are incredible. They have helped me get through some incredibly difficult times. Just try to stay positive because it worked out for my donor. (By the way, she is only 24) |

Thank you ladies for sharing your stories. I am glad to hear that what is happening to me is at least normal (although I am sorry for what you ladies had to go through.)
My donor goes back tomorrow for another scan and bloodwork. I am hoping that the cyst cleared up on it own. I will keep you ladies posted. Thank you for your support ![]() bhk - good luck with your cycle. You are almost there. |
