Question for the Donor Sperm Junkies...

I was wondering if those of you that are or have used DS to get pg, what was or is your "protocol?"
Right now I've done 2 IUI with donor sperm. I have done just a natural cycle with OPK timing. I'm finding myself a little frustrated by this, and I know its still early, but I don't want to keep doing it this way for a year till we "hit the mark" so to speak. I think I at least want to do a trigger from now on, and maybe clomid/trigger for next cycle? As of right now, I have no known issues of my own, and do ovulate on my own.
Just would love to hear from those of you that have gotten pg using donor sperm and how you got there, or from those of you that are doing it right now, what is your protocol? I'm just trying to be as educated as I can so when I talk to my RE about wanting to get more "aggressive" I can have some situations to relate to... Thanks!

Hi wantobemom-A little hx, I do O on my own, but my cycles are irregular and since 4 IVFs in the past year, they are waaaaay off. I tried doing clomid last cycle CD 5-9, but there was only 1 follie at 13mm, too small, so I was cancelled. They gave me provera to start a period and since CD3, I have been on 150IU gonal f-I have 3 13mm follicles(and some other smaller ones). RE was going to up my clomid from 50-100mg but I said let's just go for it and get right into injectables (since my body is misbehaving), b/c I know my body responds to those and they have done the trick.
So,
150IU CD3-8 or 9(depending on size via u/s tomorrow)
trigger(prob. CD9)

I wanted to get in a few IUIs this calendar year for insurance reasons, but would looove to just O normally and on my own-they can time the IUI better w/ a trigger, but you could start Oing b/f the trigger on a natural cycle. I alos like being monitored so i know excatly what I'm up against. If you have insurace, i say go for the aggressive pathway.

Thanks bebe

for all the info. I don't have insurance, so that is something to consider unfortunately But I'm hoping that there is something "inbetween" that will be a little more affordable. Thanks again!

If you add clomid, you could get by with just one midcycle ultrasound(day 12-13) and then add a trigger shot for timing. The shot releases the egg ~36 hours later. I had all my diui's at 35 hours and got pregnant on my first, third, fifth and seventh tries(m/c twice due to progesterone issues). Would cost a bit, but makes the timing more perfect, so if you got pregnant quickly, would be cheaper in the long run. Good luck and don't give up!!

I'm thinking that might be exactly what I want to try next. And like you said, if I get preg more quickly, it will be cheaper in the long run. Thanks for your response!

I have PCOS. I did clomid, first cycle = neg, second cycle Clomid + Repronex + trigger = neg, third cycle Repronex + trigger, then IUI 24 hours later = POS. With my second dd, we did Repronex + Trigger and got a POS. Good luck!
