Will clinics offer donor embryo for single women?

I visited a website of a Canadian IF clinic that was high-FSH 'friendly'. They had embryo adoption as an option, so I emailed them to ask if single women qualified.

Do you know of any clinics in Western Canada or North Western US that offers this?

Thanks!

Dana

Any clinic that treats single women would probably do embryo adoption with a single woman.

I can only speak from my clinic that once the embryos are given up by a couple, the couple has no claims to it, they become the clinic's property.

Hey Dana, I did and I am going to do a Donor Embryo FET. I am a single woman and mom from a donor embryo FET. I don't know the different clinics that offer it though. Most clinics work with single women. You may have to call around.

Well,

Two clinics near me do not offer it, so I guess I will need to search out further.

Dana,

My clinic will do the transfer and accept the donor embryos for single women, but it is a targeted program only. You must have your own donor lined up and get the embryos to them.

I know that the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center here in Denver has a donor embryo (anonymous only) program, but I'm not sure about any stipulations on marital status. If you can't find their number, PM me and I'll see if I can track it down for you.

Dana,

If you expand your search into the States, check out sart.org. They list all REs who are members of the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology. You can click on IVF Success Rate Reports, then search state by state. Click on the clinic of interest, then look at their ART Data Report. On that report (down at the bottom) it will list whether they work with single women and offer donor embryos. You can also see their overall success rates for 2003-2005. Success rates for 2006 aren't in yet because they include *live births*, which would include this month. Hope that helps!
