transfer today

Today is our big day. So far our donor did much better than we could have expected. We thought they were going to get 10 - 12 eggs at retrieval, and they got 31. Out of those 21 were mature and 15 fertilized. My RE has already frozen 6 so today we have 9 to work with. For the first time in four year of this struggle, I actually feel like we have a good chance of success. I will give an update sometime this weekend.

Beth

Beth,

That sounds very encouraging. Best of luck today. Let us know how many you decide to transfer and how it all goes!

Hi everyone,

Thank you for the encouragement and support. My RE will only transfer two. I tried to push for three but she wouldn't do it because of the higher risk of multiples. I was hoping there would be 8 cell embies as it was a day 3 transfer. The best quality were 7's. Dr said anything between 6 and 8 cells is ideal, but I still wanted an 8. My dr put in two 7 celled embies rated A and Bplus. I just don't understand why they weren't stronger in quality. I need to try to be a lot more optimistic right now, especially since this is the start of the lovely 2ww. We currently have 11 embies that are frozen all together. Beta will be on 8/29.

Tab,

The re I go to only likes to do 3 day transfers. She feels the embies do better in the natural enviornment. Thank you for asking. I will keep everyone updated.

Beth,

Wondering how everything is going. Did you have your beta on the 29th?

Hi Tab,

Thanks for checking up on me. I was told on Wed. my beta was 26. The nurse said the number needed to quadruple for it to be a viable pregnancy. Well on Friday the number was 70. She said she gives me about a 5 percent chance of success. I go back in tomorrow again for a third beta. I am basically stuck in the middle and extremely sad and emotional. I am hoping for a miracle tomorrow morning.
