Emily,
Yup, I'm cycling in September if all goes well. I've been on BCPs almost 2 weeks and I think they will start me on Lupron this week. My meds ship tomorrow and then I'll get the schedule. Our transfer will most likely be the last week in September. What are your estimated dates? BTW, I've had a lot of spotting this past week. I'm assuming this is normal while on BCP. Does anyone know? |

I'm so hoping to join you ladies! We're waiting for a go ahead from my ED. Clinic sent her an email last week to see if she's ready to start....but, I haven't heard anything - which, frankly, feels like an eternity
If she doesn't work - we have a back up that could be ready right after Labor Day...I'm just ready to get a calendar going... Good luck to all of ya'll who are starting...I'll be following your stories closely. KW |

Sorry to barge, but I'll be starting a DIUI in Sept and I think you all are IVF-ED, am I still allowed to join in this madness or do you just want IVF-EDs to post on this thread? Okay with me either way.

Hi all. We're doing IVF with a donor (my sister). I start meds on Aug. 19 with a transfer around Sept. 14. Glad to meet you all and I will check here often to see how everyone is doing. A little bit about me: We live in California. This is our first time ttc and our first time with IVF with a donor. I am terrified of this not working because of the cost and the emotional stress. Is there anyone who's had an unsuccessful cycle who can tell me anything to help prepare for the outcome?

Doing DIUI in September
Hello
I will be joining you all in September. I have been waiting on AF. Doc told me to go ahead and start Provera on Wednesday. So, hopefully she will show soon. I figure I will be having my IUI at the beginning of September. This will be my 3rd IUI, but I have been on a break for the last 5 months. We are changing donors this time so maybe that will make the difference. I hope we all get our BFPs next month! |

Acy: Welcome to our group. Can you share more about what has led your to donor eggs?
As to how to prepare for failure, um, well, not to sugarcoat it, it's heartbreaking, gut-wrenching, makes you question your sanity, your path to parenthood, your relationships. But it also makes you much stronger, makes you think harder about what you really want, makes you realize you can try again or take a different path, that while you feel OUT of control, you have the control to decide what to do next. Crazily enough, the decision for us to go to donor eggs has been so much more positive that the cycles we have done with MY eggs, that the negatives didn't quite hurt the same way. I too, am afraid of a negative outcome with THIS cycle because I don't know what we'll try next. We're doing about every reproductive science procedure you CAN do. However, I guess I've been at this long enough to know that there is SOMETHING we can do to be a parent, that we DO have choices after this. Maria_27: Welcome to our group! Hopefully the new donor will do the trick. |

We arrived at our decision to use donor eggs after I was diagnosed with premature ovarian failure. I had always known things weren't right with my reproductive system, and sure enough when we got ready to conceive, I was told there was no possible way with my eggs.
Fortunately for me, my sister is the most wonderful human being on the planet. She even offered to do surrogacy and was in fact a little bummed that that wasn't the particular baby-making service we needed. We considered adoption, but my sister and I are practically twins separated by a year and a half, and I thought this is the best option to be able to carry and give birth to a child who will at least be as close as possible to my own natural child. So I am thrilled to be getting started and humbled by women such as yourself who exhibit such strength. At the same time, I feel like a huge wimp and wonder if I can get through disappointment of this not working, with my sanity in tact. The POF diagnosis alone had me in a daze for about three months. I had to take time off work to deal. It was a really tough time. But thanks for the insight. It is really encouraging to know that I can go on after an unsuccessful attempt. Hopefully one day it will make success even sweeter. Not that I've written this cycle off already. Just trying to be prepared either way. |

past pg and m/c ment'd
ACY-not a bad idea to prepare, but try to think that it will work-I recall going into my 1st IVF cycle, completely oblivous to all the procedures and not even a thought that it wouldn't work and it did work, but I m/c'd 10 wks later. It was very sad, but geez, I wish i could get back to the naive me who didn't pay attn. to hormone levels and prepareing myself for bad news. Sadly, we are done w/ a bio baby and are moving onto DSIUI. We have male factor. I guess I'm going into this w/ a lot of unknowns and that's probably a good thing. There are always chances that you'll be blindsided all the way, but picture yourself preggo and fertilization happenning and stuff and that will help, I think.
Maria-what's your story if you care to share? Obviously you're MF-what's your DH's dx? Babyproject-I know this is going to work for you. You're right, you guys are trying every possible thing to get one to stick for 9mos. We may move onto donor embryos if DSIUI doesn't work. I would describe a failure just as you have. Knitwit-hopefully you've heard back by now if its a go or not or if you need to use your backup. Keep us posted. Tab-I think spotting is normal on BCPs-maybe you had a cyst that the BCPs dissipated.no biggie, but better to get rid of it now -are you doing ED? Looking forward to cycling w/ you all! Bebe |
