Question Looking to start cycling in two weeks - Any cycle buddies?

Waiting has been tough, but in some ways fast too---very busy. Need to slow down.

I've been on DHEA and other things and my cycles are shorter--either from that, or my being 45 to cycle?

Nervous about m/c again (RE says 80% chance of m/c), yet curious to see how my nutrition changes will affect my eggs.

Dana: This may be a dumb question but what is DHEA?

Micronized DHEA is used by women >40 whose natural supply of DHEA is lowered. When taken for several months, it has helped some women develop more follicles and produce better quality eggs. Hence increased number of pregnancies.

Definite risks to taking. Can cause major problems if your DHEA levels are already high.

hey Dana!

Sorry not cycling except for sex at any point and I have no idea when AF is or when I ovulate. When I did that last I got pregnant naturally when surrogate Mom was 3 months pregnant. Ok DHEA... is that the natural supplement you buy at the health or drug store OTC? It's testosterone right? I know I took some as my testosterone was on the low side. Hoping things head in the right direction for you!!! Baby dust flying up to Canada!!!!!

Thanks MAV!

So long as the DHEA is micronized, then off the shelf would work. I told an acupuncturist that I was losing considerably more hair and my cycles were getting shorter (both phases now), so she advised me to quit.

You've conceived within the last year without treatment, so yes, it is possible you may again. ART does not work very well at 45, but I need the DIUI for the sperm, so might as well give them a couple more eggs to shoot at, eh?

I had three mature follicles on my last successful cycle (that I m/c'd), so my ideal hope is to have six and at least one of them be perfect!

I will be using my last vial of donor sperm. May check to see if Repromed's sperm is less than Xytex Canada if I need another cycle or two.

Dana,

There are a few of us cycling in September and October. I'll be a few weeks behind you using DE.

I know you've worked hard over the past few months getting ready for this cycle. I hope you produce good follies! Let us know how everything goes. Sending good thoughts your way.

I'm hoping to be joining this group of ladies who will be cycling soon. I'm currently just waiting for AF to arrive so that I can start planning on DIUI. In June I suffered a misscarriage at 10 weeks. It was a natural conception! We are complete male factor.

Yes I conceived within the past 2 years at age 41. DS is now almost 2 years old and I am now 43. The pregnancy was not meant to be.... 6 weeks no growth and no hearbeat so it was not viable. It was my only + and only experience with pregancy. I felt a little nauseous and that's why I went to the OB. I am just thankful to have 2 healthy sons. Good luck in this cycle!!!!
