advice needed
Hi everyone,
It has been a while since I posted but thought I would get your opinions on this. My donor is on day 10 of her shots and they said she should end up with about 10 eggs at retrieval. Below are the sizes of her follicles. Retrieval is looking to be on Tuesday. My office said they consider 16 - 20 to be mature size for eggs. Please if anyone could tell me if these numbers are similar to what their donor had or if you think they sound good. Thanks so much for your advice and help. 3 - 10 4 - 11 7 - 12 2 - 13 1 - 14 1 - 15 1 - 17

Hi teach --
It's so hard to tell. With eggs, quantity is great but ultimately it's quality that matters. As a 40+ yo IVF patient, I made 15 eggs in each of my 1st two cycles, with 10 embies resulting, but they were all aneuploid (except for one that didn't implant). The # of follicles doesn't seem that high, but there might be more... and if the donor is young, hopefully there will be a very high percentage of viable eggs! For example, IF you have 10 eggs at retrieval, and IF say 6 of them fertilize, and IF only half of those resulting embryos are "good" embies, then you could have triplets!!! Best of luck! Kat |
