New donor, new plan of attack (xpost)
After our donor cycle was cancelled due to poor response we were given the option to use the same donor w/ different meds or choose another donor. We opted to choose another donor that was "proven". Old donor had never donated before but was considered perfect as she has children not using ART and her antral follie count was 10+. We all know how that turned out and since I'm not getting any younger, we decided to go with a donor who has responded well to the meds, had a high fertilization rate and where donations resulted in a live birth.
Our new donor has cycled five other times at our clinic. This will be her sixth and final donation. Her first four donations resulted in 1 set of triplets and 3 sets of twins. fifth last donation from Oct 2006 resulted in a singleton pregnancy that is going very well. We were very pleased with the fertilization rates. So the current plan is this: I'm due to start AF this week, she's due to start AF next week. They'll put us on BCP's to sync our cycles and voila! We're looking at egg retrieval around the week of March 26th. I really can't complain too much about 1.5 months of a delay, although it doesn't exactly make me giddy. I'm not getting any younger! Also, we're going to participate in a frozen egg study this go around so that ought to be interesting. RE is going to waive any expenses from the old donor in exchange for our participation in the study. Any mature eggs collected in excess of 20 will be frozen for later fertilzation w/DH's sperm and any resulting embies from the fresh and frozen cycle will be ours. Any embryos transferred to me will be from the fresh cycle for this go round leaving all others for future FET's. Of course, all of this is pending our attorney's approval of the consents and agreements. So things are looking up and I'm hoping to take these couple weeks to loose a few pounds that crept up on me in my Estrogen/Lupron funk. Right now I'm just trying to muddle through another tax season. Thank you all for your unwaivering support and encouragement. It means so very much.

Sounds like a perfect plan.
We took the same approach when choosing a donor..PROVEN! She was shorter than me, had blue eyes(I have brown), was 1/2 Italian (we are both German) ect. Oddly our girls look just like us (and so does our adopted DS). I will post a family photo if you would like. Best of everything to you!!! bebe

This donor has brown hair, brown eyes - I have blonde hair, blue eyes (pastey pale complexion). She's 5'7" and I'm 5'10". However, I'm the ONLY person in my family w/blonde hair & blue eyes. All my other three sibs have dark brown hair & brown eyes. DH has brown hair and green eyes, but brown eyes run in his family so we're not particularly concerned. Heck, someone handed me a Hispanic baby last August and told me he was mine...and he was.
At this point I realize that becoming a parent is what is important. The rest will just have to continue being "unimportant". Thank you for sharing your story and cheering us on. It helps immensly to know that we're not alone in this. Hugs, L

Definitely not alone and YES he was yours!!!
When DH and I saw the pictures of Brad Pitt and Angie Jolie (in People) with their darling perfect family we looked at each other and said...looks just like our family...PERFECT!!! Any child that is yours is the perfect one for you. 45 days and counting! bebe
