Home Pregnancy Test Question

I'm debating about taking a home pregnancy test before my beta. I was wondering how many days post blastocyst transfer could I safely get an accurate result with a home pregnancy test.

Thanks

Technically 5dp5dt is 10dpo and people CAN get a BFP on an HPT that early. Personally I think 7dp5dt is about the earliest I'd do it.

Good luck if you decide to go that way.

Yes...definitely wait as long as possible. I was convinced this cycle has worked for us until I started POAS way too early & getting -ative results. If I hadn't caved, I would have gone to beta #1 tomorrow blissfully unaware.

Thanks everyone for your replies. Now the hard decision is wether to just wait until beta. For some weird reason, and I could not possibly tell you why,
I don't want the nurse to break the news. I want to be the first one to know if I'm pg and I want to be prepared if it is negative. I'll probably just wait until the day before my beta or the day of my beta to take the test.

I'm not scheduled to work the day of my beta so I can sit around and cry if it is negative. I found out the first time that it was positive while I was at a patient's house and I was just about useless. I was on cloud nine, but I couldn't concentrate on my patient. I even told her the news and luckily she was very excited for me also and understood that I wasn't fully functioning after the news.

I'm so sorry to hear about the BFN. You never know the blood test may pick up something that the HPT didn't. The blood test is much more sensitive.

Best wishes and tons of baby dust for everyone

It's soooo hard to decide whether to take an HPT before beta or not. I know what you mean about no wanting nurse to break the news. Maybe you should wait until day of beta since you won't be working. I have everything crossed for you!! Hang in there!! {{{hugs}}}

mama2one,

those sticks are so evil. I hope I have the strength to stay away from them when I get there; I'll do my best.

Good luck,

CS

They were my saving grace both times. As much as it hurt to keep getting - before my beta in my first cycle, I was "prepared" for the BFN. Of course I still had hope, but wasn't as devastated as I would have been if I hadn't been getting those negatives.

And my FET cycle - well, I started getting those +s on 7dp3dt! I was in shock but so excited!!! And it helped to calm me down for the rest of my 2ww.

You have to be able to view HPTs with a little detachment as they CAN be wrong, but I don't look at them as evil.
