how many children were born through DS/DE?

I'm wondering how many children are born through donor egg or donor sperm. I'm just curious. Does anybody know?

Thanks in advance!
Sue

In 2003, over 1 million babies were born as a result of an IVF in the US since its beginning. In the UK alone, 800 babies are born from egg or sperm donation every year (14 Feb 2006 - human fertilisation embryology authority in the uk), which leads me to say that 220,000 in the US since the beginning of the procedures. I read it somewhere, but I cannot recall the source and based on the UK number, it's not really that far fetched.
