I am a former FTer with a 7 yr old from donor sperm and a 3 yr old from a donor embryo and I am writing to recommend the donor sibling network (you can google it); Probably a lot of people here already know about it - you can possibly make contact with others who used the same donor and your children can meet their half-siblings. We just spent the weekend with my 7 yr old's half siblings and it was great! They have a child of the same gender who is less than a year older and the two kids hit it off instantly. I feel like I've provided another two siblings for my kid without having to do anything. All the adults got along great - we totally understand what we've all been through. Now these kids email and call each other and we're planning on getting them together at least a couple times a year (it helps that we live in the same state); It was also very interesting to see all the similarities - anything from facial expressions to patterns of speech to taste in food and clothes. It also helps these kids b/c it can be difficult being from a donor and they now have someone who totally understands and can relate to them. Anyway, for those of you with donor offspring, I just can't recommend it highly enough! Thanks,
Sarah
