Not sure if this is good news

Now for those of you following along, the ED had a baseline 8/17 and only 9 antral follies when the RE likes 15, but also had it offsite and the u/s seemed to be of lesser quality than the RE would have liked. Ok, fine, we'll re-do it in Sept.

Now, 8/17 as CD3 to now would be something like CD37 for her. I thought to myself, "I bet she did her baseline already, I'll call for an update".

So I call at 8:30 this morning and leave a voice mail. Get a VM back at noon that the donor hadn't done her baseline yet, but the nurse gave me wrong dates. Um, no, that can't be right. I panic with the right dates sure that the ED somehow made a mistake and I'd be out another month. No, no, talked to the donor she didn't get AF yet.

Now would anyone else be nervous about an ED with a 36/37/38 day cycle? Would anyone else be thinking that's bad or that she got herself pg or something?

Or am I just being a nervous nelly? I mean my sister is pretty fertile but has something like a 40 day cycle. Still it makes me completely nervous.

Emily

I wouldn't be nervous... Our SM had 6-8 week cycles... Very normal for her. I thought we would never get synched because I have 28 day cycles. Turned out quite the opposite and we synched our cyles very quickly. She and her DH have 5 kids so having an "odd" cycle is fine as long as it's regular! Good luck!!!

I'm with BC-MAV in terms of the so long has she is usually on a cycle that is that length. Find out how long her cycle is normally and at the same time, if this is unusual, enquire about the repercutions so you can get some peace of mind.

I know that you're scared & nervous- how can you feel anything different right now?? Like MAV said, some people just have longer cycles & that's normal for them. I'm sure that they've asked her if there's any chance that she's pregnant (which she's not supposed to be having unprotected sex, just for that reason) & at the very least, they could run a beta on her to make sure that she's not.

After all that you've gone through to get to this point, any amount of extra waiting can make us feel nervous!!

I will watch for your update that she's gotten AF & is on her way!!!

Thanks guys

I think I have "kicked dog" syndrome when it comes to anything TTC. Sort of that shy away from the blow when there's no blow coming sort of feeling.

Can't really complain. I have a great life otherwise where things usually go my way or work out in our favor, but when it comes to TTC...

So I won't borrow trouble, just wait and see.

Ok, my happy thought for today.

I'm number two now on the RE's list, so if I lose this agency donor and I get an RE donor I like, I'd feel ok losing the agency fees to go ahead and cycle. Not the smartest money-wise, but hey, we've spent this much already.

If the donor passes the baseline and continues to pass testing, then I think I legally have to stay with her, but if she craps out, I HAVE A BACKUP PLAN!!!

All I need is a net. I'm all for going with the flow, just don't like to flow along without a destination. now I can go on vacation in peace.

You should check your contract w/agency and her depending where it's at. Mine stipulate that I can call it off and pay her for the stage she started; I have 4 stages/4 payments, 1st being apt w/ RE las being retrieval. I'm working on having the contract done with her before injectible as per lawyer's advice. Of course, first she has to make it to the 1st apt. sigh

Any news about your donor? I hope it's going to work out. Ours is not in the bag either, yet.

I haven't called and I haven't heard. We're on vacation until 10/10. I almost called today while DH was at work(ok, 2 days work for him in 2 weeks, not a bad deal) but I didn't want to ruin the happy vacation vibe. Of course I still thought about it all day and I'm goofing off here tonight and I probably should at least shoot the DE coordinator an email and ask.

I did look at the contract and if this donor is rejected I lose half the agency fee but no obligation to pick another. Or I can pick another w/o repaying the fee.

Thanks for checking in on me. I guess I send Erika an email.

What's up with your donor, CS?

Emily

so complicated

well, GRS has a donor for us. Donated twice before, great donor. Haven't read the profile, but I'm sure she's ok. It's in the hotel lobby and we'll pick it up when we check out.

Now I'll have to argue with the ED agency. No one's seen hide nor hair of the donor from the agency. it's pushing CD45.

Just thought I'd update as I went along.

Have great days.

Emily
