Time- hurry up and wait question

How long once you decided to go DE did it take to actually get a donor? How many months was the list and was it anomyous? (seems to make a diference) I am just curious. I feel like all I do test, after test, after test and then wait wait and wait some more...

I'm with you about wait wait wait, test test test.

We are on our 6th (if my memory is not failing me) donor pick; so far so good no trouble with this one. We're waiting on preliminary tests. It has been over a year since we started looking for an ED. We looked at the RE's list which was rather short, but never managed to get anyone from it; no waiting list, you just had to call in and ask to see if the ED was available or not. We also put an ad, but got nothing. Finally, we tried agencies and here we are on our 6th try. All the ED we considered were anonymous.

yep, THE WAIT

We decided DE 1st of June. We decided to go with an agency mid-July, did an initial pick of a donor and she was unavailable. Picked our current donor first of August. She flubbed out of the starting gate, only having 9 antral follies at her baseline on 8/17 BUT it was done near her home, not the RE's and didn't include an ovarian volume, SO it might be a fluke. . We're waiting for her next CD3, which will be this week to see if she does better at the RE's.

I'm still HOPING to squeeze a cycle in by the end of the year, but it doesn't look good. We are still on the RE's waitlist, so it's possible we'll come up with an RE-blessed donor sooner than this donor passes her testing. At mid-July we were #7 on the list. It seemed like they were coming off at a rate of 1 per month.

So yeah, the wait is a killer.

Emily

We were very lucky. We decided to use de and were matched w/ a donor 3 weeks later (anonymous, through my RE's office). The second time (1st cycle was unsuccessful) we were matched in, no kidding, 3 days. Like I said, we were very very lucky. Good luck!!

When we first got started, it took us 6 months to be able to even look at the list of potential donors (RE's donor pool). Then it was another 6 months before we finally transferred. (clinic was crappy, to say the least! ) We found a different RE after many bad experiences with the previous one & we were shown a list of donors right at our consult. (obviously they have their own donor pool as well) We chose one 2 months later (had to wait 2 months because of hubby's job change) & then once we got started, we were done in just 3 weeks!! My RE doesn't waste time & because of my IF problems, it's a piece of cake to cycle me because they just go by the donors AF's & then start me on meds.

Good luck! Oh, and yes, all of our donors have been anonymous.

3 months I think. We were presented tons of profiles. But then once we had 3 potentials picked out they were either not available, had already been matched with another couple, or one was going through a separation. Still it didn't take long. We used an agency.
