Flying after Transfer?

My Transfer is scheduled for Tues, the 18th. We are scheduled to fly home from CA. to FL. on Weds the 19th night. Has anyone flown after their transfer? Any advice/comments appreciated

I haven't flown, my RE is only 10 minutes away from my house! But, I've seen quite a few ladies on the IVF/High Tech bb who travel for tx & they fly back home & are just fine!

You'll do great! Good luck!!

Karen

TwoSox I am in the Fort Lauderdale area, and just wondering if I may ask what made you choose CA?

I did two IVF/ICSI cycles (using own eggs) out of state. Flew home 2 days after transfer both times. Just take it easy & let airline lift your bags. Good Luck!

Thanks for your feedback...we are SO ready to get home and see our furbabies! I read around a little and i guess some RE's want you to wait 24-36 hours after because of blood clottting issues from the estrogen?

Londontime~ We found a doctor in L.A. that has available donor eggs for us already. We chose our donor from a pool that he already has their eggs frozen and ready to go and our cost is very low. 6K...we dont pay the donor. He has a great rate of pregnancy and We like him...Our donor is proven with 3/3 so far and she is beautiful! He also has an office in Las Vegas (and his coordinator is the best!) but he does his transfers in L.A....we had a trip planned to Hawaii anyways so we thought we would schedule the IVF at the same time We live in Orlando...GOOD LUCK to you!

TwoSox......I have a ? if you don't mind....

I just wanted to know what doc you went to? I'm originally from CA (now live in VA) and both myself and my good friend donated eggs (not in a million yrs do I think these are the same eggs ) - I was just wondering if you used the same clinics?? I was in Northridge with Dr. Konalian (I met Deidre Hall when she was doing one of her surrogacies there!) and my girlfriend was in Santa Monica with Dr. Marrs.

Yep, I'm now on this board (doing DS). 10 yrs later and I still have no baby (16+ yrs of ttc). I donated eggs: 1. I'm not into the word "karma" - but when you do something nice, it'll eventually come back to you. 2. They were going to waste, why not give them to someone who needs them. 3. Instead of getting "paid" we received some fertility services from Dr. Konalian.

It's wonderful you didn't have to pay for the donor!! It's very expensive, I know how much they spent on me and I felt kinda bad.

Good luck to you!!! Oh, for your actual ?: Since my IVF's didn't work, I'm paranoid. While flying home 2-4 days after is most likely perfectly fine and people do it everyday, I'd be paranoid! But that's me. When mine didn't work, I figured out why they didn't work on each one - I know in my head it's because God didn't mean for it to happen at that time not because of anything I did. Remember that! And, you've got to go home sometime!! I double the comment on letting dh or airline carry your bags. And don't walk too fast thru the airport, - ifn fact, I'm so paranoid, I'd ask for a wheelchair! especially if you're going thru LAX or SFO!!

Know that if God has meant it to be - IT WILL!! Let us know what's happening!!

Blessings!

Marci
