New to DE

Hi, I've been on the IUI boards for six months...been ttc for two years with my second husband and I'm being told by ALL that donor eggs are my best route. We're about to begin...still deciding between two doctors, I have one more appt on Thurs and then I'll decide. I am really excited about the prospect but nervous about all the drugs. The Clomid alone was a major headache! I have two children conceived on my own when I was younger. they are 15 and 10. Both the RE's I have met with handle egg donation through their offices. Not sure how long it will take. Just lookin for people in the same boat to talk with! My friends on the IUI board have been amazing.

I never had any problems with the meds. I made sure to drink plenty of water when on Lupron.
Good luck with your decision on which doctor to use and with your upcoming cycle!!

I myself am new to the DE side of IF. We just got on the list at my RE's clinic to find a donor. I have been through two IVF's though so I am use to all kinds of meds and haven't had any problems with them so far. We were told it could take up to a year to find a donor since they are so strict as to who can be a donor (which is fine by me). We have waited this long, one more year won't really make a difference (but hopefully it will sooner!! ) Hope you have good luck with the Dr. that you pick and we are here to talk anytime!! Sounds like we will be pretty much on the same schedule for now, you know, the sit and wait schedule!! Good luck with everything!

yep the ol sit and wait. One of the two doctors I am deciding between said that it would be 2-3 months...that's not so bad...I guess they have a lot of donors..curious to see what my other RE says on Thurs.

WOW, only 2-3 months, that would be great!! I think because we are at a smaller clinic and are not in a metro area near a big city may be why it will take us longer. I hope it doesn't take the whole year though. Good luck with your last appt. and with your decision. Keep me updated!

Hopefully by now, you're done with your consult & have a good idea of which RE you're going to go with!!

I never had any side effects from any of the meds I took for my cycles. I hope that you have some easy cycles & that they end with success!!! Would you like me to add you to the chart?

thanks, I'd love to be added to the chart. I'm gonna stick with my original RE...now she said up to a nine month wait, but of course she added that ya never know. But I like her, and I like her approach. So that decision is made!!
