Anyone used this agency?
Hi there,
I am in the search for a donor and was wondering if anyone has heard of or used this agency: The Egg Donation and Surrogacy Center in Marina del Ray,CA? This morning I called about a donor I liked but this afternoon the agency called back with what seemed like high pressure sales techniques. She told us the donor would be "on hold" for us until tomorrow morning but then we had to decide because there were suddenly four or five others interested. One problem that we are concerned about is that the donor is only 20 and we aren't even sure our clinic will cycle with her, not to mention we have no medical information on her previous donations, only self-reporting as two successful one not. Is this a red flag?? Help! bartlett

I am not familiar with this agency (we are in KY), but you might also want to post this question on w w w.surromomsonline.com
That website probably has a higher number of egg donors and surrogates that might be able to answer your question. My personal belief is to wait until you are sure you've found the donor you are interested in and that you understand the procedures and costs the agency and your clinic are using/charging before rushing into anything. Bartlett,
I did A LOT of research with almost all the donor agencies , I took myself 6 months to search for my donor, I've never heard of them, it is clear to me they must be new Don't aloud them to rush you, to choose a donor ASAP, it is not like choosing a pair of shoes, it is a decision that will be a part of your life forever, let's suppose that there are 5 people interested into this donor, so...let be it!, take your time, this agency should know you are under a lot of emotional stress and they shouldn't putting you under more stress. Kind of like that happened to me with other agency, and I say I couldn't deal under pressure and thanked them, and guess what, I checked their website 1 month later and the donor was still there. good luck in your search and keep us posted what you did |

Hi,
Our experience was so different, absolutely no pressure to choose our donor quickly. We were sent profiles of 20 women, we narrowed it to 3, then we were given in depth profiles to make our final decision. We also relied on the agency coordinator to give us advice on choosing, her help was invaluable. We never felt rushed or pressured to put down a deposit quickly, this is such an important decision. Our agency never required any payment until we had chosen our donor. Don't forget that even if you choose now, the actual transfer won't be for a few more months, so by waiting and feeling comfortable with your choice you probably won't be delaying your treatment. We chose our donor in Dec. and our transfer will be next month. We chose a 26 year old first time donor. She has a child, so we hope she is a good responder. Good luck with your decision, hopefully in the end it will result in 2 lines on that stick! Karen |

Have never heard of them and I would be a little concerned. The "high pressure sales" technique is completely inappropriate in this situation. Although, donors can go fast. I would check into multiple agencies if I were you. We used www.creatingnewgenerations.com. I have also hear of people using www.eggdonor.com with much success. Go with your gut. Best of luck!
