Need info on age restrictions
I am just beginning this journey and have been researching options. If my other options are ruled out, I would love to try DE and have a fertile sister who would be willing to donate. The only problem is her age, she's 36. Do any of you know if she would even be considered as a donor. She just turned 36 in Nov. Any thoughts would be most appreciated.
Thanks Barbara

hopingandhoping,
This is a difficult decision to make, of course always is better if donor is in their 20's but if is very important fo you that your sis will assist you, I will give it a try, did she had children before? |

I personally think she is an excellent candidate for you, specially because is your sister, and I assume she is in a very good health.
The only thing she has against her is her age, I think the limit age for an egg donor is 36 years old, why don't you talk with your ER? |

How wonderful! I think she sounds like a great candidate too! Although, at my clinic the age limit was 32. Every clinic is different so I would check. Although, I did hear though that they bend the rules for situations like yours. Best of luck!

It really depends on your RE, but even if he ok's it, you have to realize that you're taking a big risk because the quality of her eggs might not be so hot. Even though she just gave birth herself, when you use all the meds, it can sometimes affect quality.
If your RE oks it, then I'd try it, but I'd do it very, very soon. Good luck to you!
