Crud! Dr. may be gone when I surge (help!)

I can't believe this, I ordered the sample and called my Dr. to let them know it will be here on Friday and I should be ready this weekend. His nurse then informed me he is leaving tonight for a convention and won't be back until late Monday. So now if I ovulate this weekend (like I should) I will have 2 choices. One to cancell and two to do a home insemination! Good grief, I don't want to cancel so I guess we're on our own. Anyone do this and get a bfp. I've been instructed on how to do it but ugh! One thing after another.

Oh, gosh I am so sorry. You know I have always told friends when they chose a Dr. or clinic to make sure they are open on week-ends. Some Drs. and clinics are NOT open on week-ends and that leaves you in a "pickle" if you are surging and need an IUI on a Saturday or your follicles are ripe for an IVF on a Sunday.

Is there another Dr. on call that could do it? What about a nurse doing the insem? If you cancel couldn't you be in the same situation next time if you surge and the Dr. is out of town? So if that's the case that this is always a possability, then I would go ahead with the home insems. Can you do them back to back? Can you use a foam wedge to lift your hips? Can you stand on your head? Just trying to think of everything that we did..... Let us know what you decide!!!!

Unfortunatly this is the only doctor in town that will do it, they had told me that if I surge on the weekend I would page them. The nurse even gave me her cell but since he's out of town they can't do it. So I guess we're going to try the home insem. The bank is sending the sample to the doctor's office. I'll be picking it up friday with the speculum and cath. Great, DH gets to play doctor for real this weekend. I guess it can't hurt, it will only be an intracervicle insem but maybe I should try standing on my head. LOL At this point Dh is finding this pretty amuzing. We were talking last night about not knowing what the heck we're doing, I made a comment about defrosting it. He suggested putting it in the microwave or boiling. God help us it's going to be very interesting. hehe I'll keep you updated

Oh No....Not the microwave...I am sitting here smiling....I have been through it enough you could fly me out and I am sure I could do it....It might be nice to be giving instead of receiving! LOL....You will have an interesting weekend! I really hope this works!

LOL! Ya the microwave, I'll be picking up the time capsule thing today with the supplies. Are you ready to hop on a plane? I would feel better than DH doing it, I think he's really looking forward to it. Men are just strange! hehe I'll definatly let ya know how it goes. Geez I hope this works too. My IVF cycles were "perferct cycles" and obviously they didn't work so maybe since this is sooooo messed up it'll work.
