Worried, 6wks, bleeding, twins, Input pls

Hello everyone,

This morning I started cramping, bleeding red blood, flow light to med. Went to re to have ultra sound. Two sacs at 6 wks. RE says everything looks normal, now. But, doesn't like the fact that I'm bleeding. doesn't know what's causing it, will wait to see 8 wks ultrasound to see heartbeat (s). If it's a "viable" pregnancy it will continue. Continue on meds, take it easy. Unless, heavy flow or severe pain change will see me again in 2 weeks.

Questions:
Do you think I might loose one of the babies? If so, what happens to the sac or embryo that doesn't survive? Will docs remove it? Could it be a problem for the other baby?

Is bleeding any indication of future health of pregnancy?

Anyone experience this?

Appreciate your response. Thanks.

Gaylemae,
Sorry to hear about the bleeding I hope it stops right away. Everyone is always so scared when this happens it doesn't seem like we should have to deal with that on top of everything else. Did the RE offer any ideas of what is causing it? I'm praying for you. Good Luck with everything and congratulations on the twins.

With my last twin prg. I bled some too. Never really new why but it scared the crap out of me. Everything was fine in the end. I have read several women on the posts have had some also.

WOW TWINS! Your suspicions were right! Congrats! Sorry to hear about your bleeding but I also had bleeding (A LOT) at 7 weeks. My RE couldn't find anything when I went in but the following week he found a large SC hematoma. It disappeared in 2 weeks or so and I am still pg at 19w3d today. I hear SCh's are very common more than one thinks. I was told to just take it easy.

Keep us posted!

thank you for your support and input. 50/50 what does SC stand for? This morning the bleeding & cramping have stopped. Now just adjusting to the news we might be having twins. I'm so glad this bb is available.

I hope that everything goes well for you. I had bleeding (a little) without cramping at about week 7 of my DE twin pregnancy. I was lucky everything was fine and mine are 2.5 yo. It is so scary when you have already been through so much. I will be thinking of you.

** pg/child ment **

There's another gal last year who had a Subchorionic hemhorrage & she had quite a few heavy bleeding episodes, however her little girls are doing just fine & she carried them until just over 33w.

I started with twins in my first pregnancy but lost one of the babies at 8w. We had seen both h/b's at 6w1d, so it was a shock to see that one no longer had a h/b. I was told that I could bleed & pass the baby or that my body could reabsorb the baby & nothing would happen. Nothing happened. We could still see the baby's sac & the baby inside (no form, just a little blob ) until my 11w u/s. By my regular 18w u/s with my OB, the 2nd sac was no longer visible. My DD is now going to be 5 in October & she's healthy as a horse & I carried her to 41w, when I was induced!!

I know that it's terrifying, but hang in there. I've seen things like this go both ways. Sending loads of 's for you & your little ones!!

Karen

I can't remember if I've congratulated you yet on the twins .. so let me do it again, just in case. CONGRATS X 2!!!!!!!!!! As you may know, I'm also pg with twins and I too had cramping/red bleeding. Mine happened at exactly 5w and I was in an absolute panic. My u/s (nearly 3 weeks later) showed the twins and a small bleed (SCH). To answer your question about what SC is it means sub-chorionic. Unfortunately this is very common in pregnancy and is caused when the embryo(s) implant and burrow in, some blood get can displaced (kind of like splashed) and it will create a pool. Over the weeks mine has been reabsorbed by my body, but I was told that the more active I am the more likely it'd come out again as bleeding.

As Bonnie (Momtotwins) said, it really isn't fair that on top of all the IF stuff we go through, that we have to still face scares during our pregnancy. We should get a break and have completely healthy, uneventful pregnancies. Sadly, that's not how life works

I will tell you that I've read stories from several other twin pregnancies that have bleed a tons (tmi - filled the toilet kind of bleeding). They all went on to have healthy babies!

Hang in there. You and the little ones will be in my thoughts and prayers. We're all here if/when you need a shoulder to lean on.

I am sorry to hear of your bleeding episode. I am hoping it is a SC as the other ladies have mentioned. I am keeping you and your little ones in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope all is fine with you and the twins. I had bleeding at 6 weeks also, heavy and red. It came on so sudden too that I thought I was miscarrying. It turned out to be amazingly okay though and was a blood clot near the embryo that was not touching or affecting the embryo.

Unfortunately, I lost my baby at 11w6d. Turns out I will most likely loose any baby if I use my eggs. That why we are going to donor eggs this next time. The bleeding had nothing to do with the loss. So have hope. It could be okay.

Gaylemae- Sorry I've been away. SCH means subchorionic hematoma. I'm glad to hear that it has stopped. How are you doing with the idea of twins? I know you had some conerns about it before you transferred. Has it sunk in yet?
