My first DE cycle

We're finally here. I start Lupron tonight. Our donor starts her stims on Sep 17. This is a known donor cycle, firsts for both the donor and us. I'm nervous and excited and scared at the same time. We're not telling anyone that we're even doing IVF this time. Sharing our disappointment was just too great when it didn't work out in the past.

I know there's no way of knowing how our donor will respond but can anyone give me any advice or inspiration to help get me through this? She's 26 years old, all of her tests came back fine. She's really smart and very cute and I feel so lucky to have found her. I feel like I'm going to want to know every step of the way how she's responding, how the retrieval went, etc. Do you think that's a good idea or should I try to keep myself a bit removed, since there's nothing I can do about it anyway!

I'm so glad I found this site. There are so many wise women out there who really do help!!

Congrats on getting to this point! It's an exciting thing to be at this point! It depends on the level of info you want to have. Some people aren't given any info about the donor, nothing other than that she's starting her stims & the date for her retrieval and others are told everything, the size of the follies, how many follies she's got, etc.

You have to do what you feel comfortable doing. Good luck!

How awesome that you're getting ready to get started on your cycle! Did you know her before or did you find her through an ad or agency? If you know her & the clinic knows, they may give you any info you ask for, such as how she's stimming, etc., but some RE's won't give any info.

Only you can decide how much you want to know!! I can't wait to see you get started!!

Good luck to you on your cycle! It's so exciting to get to this point. When I started my cycle I thought I wanted to know everything too but then I was told "everything"...some not so good news. The end result was GREAT as I am pg but it was very stressful to hear everything especially when it is not going exactly how you would have liked it. It's hard to say what to do. I just know for me it was kinda like your ****ed if you do and ****ed if you don't.
